Black Screen on loading FF9

Hoyas!

Maybe this has been asked before, but I searched, and my search came up with nothing useful to me..
Sorry if I've been blind =)

When trying to start FF9 (German PAL, Orig CD) my screen just wents black.. nothing else...

ePSXE displays:

* PAL cdrom detected.
* Doing init gpu[0]...
* Gpu open[0]...
* Direct input init ok.

I am using Pete's Graphics plugin and the default stuff otherwise.

My system is
Duron 700
GForce2 MX
SB Live! ( I triend to disable sound =) )
Win XP

Ahh.. needed a patch..
Well..
Didn't know there were some =)

Runs now..
Just the battles are choppy..

During battles, everythings flickers...
Anybody know a cure?
Like some wierd config? =)

And I got a funky, colorful noise when switching scenes..
Little annoying but could live with that.
