Hi, i really need some help with Legend of Dragoon. It's starting to bug me now, so any ideas would be appreciated.
Basically, the problem is near the end of disc 2, when you are fighting Dragoon Lenus and Sea Dragon Regole (after Lenus declares her love for Lloyd). At the end of the battle, once you've collected the exp points and press X to exit, the screen goes black like it's going back to the game, but nothing happens! It just stays blank!!! I've tried so many different things and configurations to get it to work, but nothing works!! Does anyone know what's wrong? Is this a known problem, or am i just being stoopid? The game has worked pretty much fine up until now. Here's my PC spec: Windows ME Intel Pentium 4, 1.4 GHz, 128 Mb RDRAM NVidia GeForce 2MX graphics card Creative Sound Blaster Live! 1028 sound card 40 Gb hard disk 32x CD-RW I'm using a copied cd to play the game. I know it works, because my friend has used it in his chipped psx. I'm also using the scph7502 bin file. In ePSXe i have "SIO irq always enabled" ticked in the menu. Here are the plugins i'm using for the ePSXe emulator (version 1.4.0): |

try eternal spu i played this part(currently i'm on disc 3) but never encounter that problem i just notice that if you enable the sound irq stuff the eternal will not produce any sound so better to turn this off

To astroduck
Astroduck: I had the same problem when i first tried using LoD with ePSXe. The solution is to use the scph7502.bin BIOS rather than the scph1001.bin BIOS that you're probably using. If you don't have the scph7502.bin file, do a search for it on the net, and you'll soon find it.
Back to my problem now: I tried using Eternal sound, that didn't solve the problem. Does anyone think that using a different PSX emulator for that particular bit of the game might solve the problem i'm having? |

i use eternal SPU plugin and it works prefectly for me.
The only complaint i had is that the game runs slightly slower compare if I used other sound plugins. I heard Eternal sound plugins are the best(closer to psx sounds) but is also the slowest... oh well.... |

I've just played trough the whole game and the problem happened to me 2 or 3 times : the game hangs when exiting a fight : it is a bug in the save state format (for me) and it happened when I was using save-states too much, continuing from a save point with a regular save solved the problem. Hope it helps.

Accurate CD Timing. I had the exact problem with Connectix and ePSXe. This solved it.
Kerilk: Did you not run into the supposed 4th CD hang up? Or, how did you get around it? Respectfully, Daedalus Last edited by Daedalus; January 30th, 2002 at 16:41. |

I don't know in fact.
After the final battle, I got some mdecs in which you would see the end of rose and zieg, and then mdec with the characters rendered like in game At last the game diplayed only a black screen, It looked like the end of the story, so I didn't bothered doing the last fight again. Then angain I had used savestates too much so maybe the black screen comes from this. What crash were I supposed to see? |
