Suddenly, can't save states in 1.7.0

What kind of security software do you have installed?

Wich game are you trying to use Savestates with?

I've played some DEMOs in wich Savestates didn't work, but they didn't save into the memory card either (feature disabled in the DEMO).

Another, what did you to so it would work previously and wich game were you trying?
What changed when it stopped working, and wich game are you trying now?

do your other function keys work in epsxe? like does F4 toggle the fps limiter on/off or does it do nothing at all like the save/scroll/load save state keys (F1-F3) are doing now?

oh this reminds me of a thread about pj64, the person ended up having a media keyboard and the config app had set the F keys to various things....

All the other function keys work. I wiped the whole thing again, and rebuilt the folder, taking the suggestion to delete and then recreate all the subfolders first. Save states are once again working. I can tell when I push F1 because the game freezes for a second. I can then view the state by toggling F2.

When it quits working, nothing happens when I push F1, and toggling F2 shows only empty views. Yet, the states are still in the folder as shown by Windows Explorer.

how do you exit out the emulator when you want to stop playing? like what do you do specifically?

ESC>File>Exit. After saving, of course.

tried renaming the folder to SSTATES?

No, I haven't. Why would changing the name of the folder to all caps affect anything? But I'll try anything.

you never know, my folders have always been caps, and i've never had this problem.
