audio device- directsound
buffer size- 64
audio-out method- thread
all 3 special game fixes enabled
"wait for XA buffer is free" enabled under the "misc" section
neill's reverb

Awesome! That fixed the sound/voice problems. I just can't figure out why I can't see the dialog ingame now..

why I can't see the dialog ingame now : Its a GFX issue, try juggling with options like : OFF Screen Drawings & Screen Filtring that should fix it

Ok... I got the dialog to show up onscreen now... but now the voices ingame crack/skip but the BGM doesn't... I've been trying differant settings but it either stops showing the chat or craps out the sound...

This thread you started reached its goal, yet to tell us about your specific games & their problems (mean you have to change your posting place), or else it risks to go unfinish,,,deh,,, and if you continue so you'll run in a catastrophic results...and for your information, emulation scene will never see the perfection you seek that easy, thus some smart coders (PETE) created a tool named ePSXeCutor (an ePSXe emulator fronend tool), just as proof of that and a solution to do so,,,advise to visit Pete web-pages and you'll find more answers on how to do so within ePSXeCutor README Files.

Yeah, yeah,,, but did you noticed that you didn't even mention your real problem ( NO GAME NAME, NO SPECIFIC PROBLEM (MULTI-ONES) in one thread),,, No one can go to a jungle w/o a guide,,, at least post: game/game_region/PC specs/Problem_Specs...etc

It's with Lunar II: Eternal Blue. I've got it to where I can get it so the sound doesn't skip when they're speaking on the game. But than the dialog on screen doesn't show up. I can fix it so the dialog on screen shows up, but than the sound skips. I've been playing around with the options, checking this and changing that but I can't seem to get both to work at the same time.

ok using the settings for the eternal spu i posted earlier fixed your audio issue, right? use those and for the d3d dx6 1.76 plugin, set it up like this-

Plugin: Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.1.76

I'm just going to "deal" with the glitchy sound during dialog ingame... It doesn't skip during cutscenes or during battles, etc... I've been messing with the video for days now & it's either I can't read the dialog, or glitchy sound. Odds are it's more than likely my PC. I'm not PC savvy to know it's probably a PoS. I guess I should upgrade it than try to mess with this program. Thanks alot for your help Jonc2006, Hanibal81 & Sarkwalvein.

one last thing because after this i really am out of ideas here- go to start>run>type in "dxdiag" without the quotes. under the "sound" tab, what acceleration level is the sound set to? while this is rare from what ive seen, its possible you need to raise or lower the level. ive played one or two games in the past that the audio didnt sound right in, regardless of plugin settings, unless it was set to "basic" instead of the "full" level which i use normally. im not exactly sure why this was, but you might want to do this just for the hell of it because you never know.

there actually is one other thing you could do, and i cant believe i forgot to mention this- you could just try another emulator like psx which is very simple to use compared to epsxe since it doesnt use plugins. the only downside to doing that is that you lose all the visual enhancement possibilities the more advance hardware plugins offer but if you really dont care about all that and just want to play the game i suggest you give that one a spin.
