get 2.8, the latest version, it can be found here. what video card do you have and how are you setting up the plugin (in either version)?

im assuming you are using windows- go to start>run> type in "dxdiag" without the quotes, then under the "display" tab you will see info about your video card and other related things. you can also see this through the device manager but the dxdiag utility usually shows more information.

sounds like an onboard and i dont think that chipset will work with the OGL2, you should try using a d3d or OGL1 plugin instead. if you need help setting one of those up i can do what i can to get you started. what game(s) do you intend to be playing? there are some things regarding certain games that you will probably want to know about ahead of time that will save you alot of frustration.

you should be fine then. the reason i asked is because some games only work on certain versions (ff9 and chrono cross) and there are games that need specific settings enabled in order to work correctly as well. if you play from an image, make sure you create one in a format that has support for subchannel data because most psx games will not work without it. if you do not know how to do this, read this thread.

i also suggest you read over the FAQ because there is a ton of stuff in there that will be helpful when and if you run into issues with games or the emulator. and if you ever run into a game that just doesnt want to work with epsxe, another good emulator you could try is psx. its very easy to set up and while it cannot pull off the visual enhancement features epsxe and its various plugins are able to create, its a solid alternative to epsxe and some games actually work better with it.
