Exclamation A unique controller situation

i am relatively new to this emulation thing, so maybe i'm just naive...or, if you prefer, just a n00b. personally, i hope it isn't the latter, but i digress. i have a psx controller converter, which allows me to connect my psx controller to a usb port, and use the controller as a pc game pad. i thought it would be easy to use it for ePSXe, so i mapped the controls accordingly. the only problem is that i can't use my analog sticks. when i try to switch between digital and analog control, it makes no difference to the emulator. it behaves the same way, with everything functioning but the analog sticks. can somebody enlighten me, please? thanks!

in the pad config menu set it so "digital/analog" is displayed in the upper right hand corner's pull down menu, then while in game press F5 to enable/disable the analog. keep in mind some early psx games dont even have analog support because they came out before it was included with the console and made standard.

are you saying that it will not recognize attemps to map movement to the analog sticks in the control config or do you have them mapped but they just do not respond while in-game? are you certain the "digital/analog" is displayed in the upper right hand corner of the config window? what controller are you using and what games are you trying to play? earlier gen. psx games didnt have analog support so you might be shooting blanks here if one of the games you are trying to play is one of those. with games like that, i usually map the dpad to the analog sticks, its not true analog movement but it gets the job done for the most part.

what about the analog on/off button in between the two sticks on the controller itself, have you tried pressing it? im not certain since i use a pc gamepad, not an actual ps2 controller connected by an adapter but while the f5 key thing is for the same purpose, its possible that you need to hit the analog on/off button on the controller itself in addition to pressing f5 when using a controller like yours.
