<Ask> Make the ePSXe run faster (Newbie)

Hi,
I'm newbie here, pleased to meet u.
Currently, i'm playing FF9 with ePSXe 1.6, so far so good.
The story like this, when i'm playing that game, suddenly my little cousin came by and press every key on my keyboard, and suddenly the FPS rate became more than 100 and the game become faster. The battle also faster. Then i asked her, what did she press. She said don't know and started pressing keys again. And the FPS became normal again, 60 FPS.
Do somebody know what happened and how to make the ePSXE run faster, it might come in handy u know..

look in the gpu plugin theres a little button with ... on it.

If you are playing at normal speed and want a temporary boost hold down the 9 key. If you want to toggle press delete to bring up the fps, then press insert and press page up/down to go to the frame options and press home/end.

i suggest you switch to 1.5.2 with ff9 unless your the type that likes seeing your games lock up at certain points.

Now i know how to hasten the ePSXe.
by pressing Home or End button right..

I already almost arrive at Dali and still no problem..
Ussualy, at what kind of event that will make my game lock up ? Is it when the FMV (movie) occurs?

Seriously now, follow Jonc's advice and switch to 1.5.2.

I just got freeze when the random battle at world map is loading.. alright, i'm changing to v1.52...

and i dont know if you have this game or not but if you do have chrono cross and you intend to play it at some point, you will need to use 1.5.2 with that game as well. there are other games that have compatibility issues with 1.6.0 (a small percent though) but FF9 and CC are by far the most well known.

small bug in 1.6.0 that was to be fixed in 1.6.1

it will be fixed in 1.7.0 though.

a light saber is far and away more advanced them a simple laser. the beam itself is created by a concentration of force energy which is concentrated in a crystal
