Which plugins are BEST?

The title definately says it all. Which are the best Video, Sound, CDrom, Pad plugins and where can I get them from?

it depends on your system and what it can/cannot handle. you can find most of the plugins for epsxe on the ngemu section for epsxe or you can get them from here.

Which plugins are BEST?
generally, anything produced by Pete ;P

- cdr plugins:
pete's cdr (needs preconfiguration)
sapu's (no configuring needed)

- sound:
eternal spu
pete's

- graphics:
pete's ogl2 (considered most compatible one, if your card can handle it. or else, it'll just be painfully slow)
pete's ogl (nearly as great as ogl2, but with "traditional" resolution. so its more like: ogl2 versus ogl ;P )
pete's direct3d (generally should always work, as the suggested minimum renderer for all Windows, if other plugins fail or graphic card is slighly sucky)

* }e{ 's hw-accelerated software plugin (superhighly efficient software rendered. recommended for VERY old computers with sucky cpus and gpus. generally always MUCH faster than pete's soft plugin. pete's soft plugin has more accurate color rendering, but obviously very old computers couldnt care too much about anything but speed ;P ))

Leaving out the built in cdrplugin for some reason HCR?... i find no issue with it, especially where sapu has issues with the new..... err nvm.

the 4mb caching itself is already more than enough to ditch anything else (especially if you play a lot with CDs, constant spindowns could drive someone mad), and sbi/m3u is a nice plus too.
customazibility and'running out of box' are pretty important (a number of common complaints related to pete's cdr seem to be about how it requires preconfiguring. would be cool if some level of out-of-box' functionalty was there, 'in the future')

You can disable Spindown with nero drivespeed. works for me.

Since petes plugins are in need of an urgent update regarding new drive specifications... annoyingly the default plugin reads subchannels fine, but petes doesn't O.o

if anyone knows where Sapu got off to... his plugin needs an update.
