Unhappy HELP! Need to uninstall CD Plugins!

I am not very familliar with any of this. I just downloaded the necessary files and installed them. I wanted to play FFVII on my PC and that was really the main reason I downloaded ePSXe. I am not good with all of this debugging jargon and now I think the CD plugin is making any DVD ir CD I put in skip very badly. I need help!

epsxe plugins would not cause anything like that, it doesnt affect anything outside of epsxe. you probably just didnt configure the thing right, have you read the troubleshooting FAQs? have you installed any sort of virtual drive software? that could be your problem.

edit- just tell me what cdrom plugin you are trying to use and i will attempt to sort this out for you. if you really want to get rid of epsxe you just delete the directory and clean your recycle bin. you did get epsxe in a zip file right?

The plugin I'm using is one of the default ones. WNT/W2k Core. I thought it wouldn't have anything to do with other things besides epsxe either. But I can only think that it is the cause of my problem, because it started happening right after I installed all of the plugins. I did get epsxe in a zip file. I checked the faq, but didn't see anything on this issue. No virtual drive software. You can tell I don't know much about this when I ask, but, when you say delete the directory, do you mean delete the folders in which the setup, plugin, and exe files are?

yes, delete the entire epsxe folder, the root directory. btw what are you pc specs? try going into the cdrom plugin config and enable subchannel reading. i find it odd that the plugins would affect something outside of epsxe, i dont think its possible. i think it would be best if you remove epsxe and see if it fixes your issue. if it doesnt then thats not good because there is a lot of things that could be the cause. just to make sure im hearing you right, you are saying that if you were to put a movie or something in your drive and watch it with something like windows media player, it has lag?

well, there is one thing i know would get rid of the lag and skipping but it is rather risky, especially if you dont follow it word for word it because it can put you in a situation where you would possible have to a lot of reinstalling if the process is messed up. im going to hold back on explaining this particular method further until i can get some things ruled out first, because it could do more harm than good.

Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro\CDR]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro\CDR\PeopsCDRASPI]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro\GPU]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro\GPU\PeteD3D]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro\GPU\PeteOpenGL2]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro\GPU\PeteSoft]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro\GPU\PeteTNT]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro\Memory Cards]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro\NET]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro\PAD]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro\SPU]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro\SPU\PeopsSound]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro\SPU\PeteMIDAS]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro\SPU\spuEternal]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro\SPU\spuNullsMixer]
Copy all that into note pad and save as 'uninstall.reg' or "uninstall.reg" which ever saves it as a reg file instead of a .reg.txt file.

then double click the file and click yes to remove the registry info.

still having problems.......

Sorry for the long absence. Thanks for all of your help. I really apprieciate it. I am still having issues though. I deleted everything to do with the emulator and i used the .reg script, but everytime I try to play a CD or DVD It's really choppy. When I played the emulator I had to slow something in the settings down so the game wouldn't play too fast. Could that have something to do with all of this? I am also beginning to wonder if it is a coincedence that all of this started happening right after I installed the emulator.

And also I have a Compaq Presario R4000 I am not sure of what the graphics and sound cards are in this computer. I don't know a whole lot about that stuff.

Any more ideas?

I really apprieciate how helpful you've all been.

use the dxdiag utility and see if it comes up with any conflicts.

my pc's been freezing lately, i had recently installed a new driver for my video card.

found it was caused by a buffer overflow in speedfan.

Moral = just because it started happening after epsxe, doesn't mean its the cause. you'll have to run some testing to find the actual cause.
