epsxe minimizing all the time

can anyone tell me how to keep epsxe from minimzing when something on the desktop pops up (anti-virus, screensaver, etc). the game keeps running in the background and i can just hear myself dying and **** i hate it. also when i get whatever minimized my game closed and click epsxe on the toolbar, it restores but only like the top left corner of the screen and i have to hit esc and then go run - continue to get it back. mad annoying so if anyone has had the same problem please tell me what u did, thanks.

i would be more productive to just disable the background apps that are popping up. anti virus programs are usually resource hogs anyway so if good performance is something you want it would be best to disable them before using the emulator and screensavers are totally cosmetic today, unless your monitor is from the stone age you dont really need that either.

I might add that using such tools as "TweakUI" (google it) can help....If you see a box labeled "keep applications from stealing program focus", check it and it might solve your problems. It is available for download or might be on your OS installation cd already. I suggest any windows user has this applet installed.

yeah i believe you can also do it by changing one of the values in the registry however thats very risky, especially if you dont know what you are doing. but thats what tweakUI program is able to do for you anyway, it basically just makes the editing process simpler for you. so in case you or anyone else who may come across this thread later on: its better to do it with something like tweakUI opposed to a manual registry change unless you are absolutely sure of your skills in working with the registry and know what you are doing.

I agree, and that's why I usually recommend TweakUI first, as it knows the right changes and where. I believe this is the cause, and I hope my suggestion is the cure...
