memory card save from a version to another
Is it possible to transfer my ff8 save file using epsxe version 1.6.0 to epsxe version 1.5.2? I'm gonna be playing it on version 1.5.2 because i'd like to try if there won't be any freezes using this version. I've had problems running disk 2 on version 1.6.0. Thanks.

If it is an actual memory card save, the version of the emulator should make little difference, if any, to it unless there are issues between certain emu versions and reading memory cards....I'd say that if the game worked reasonably well and saved without difficulty on one version of any emulator, the save is compatible with any emu that can actually read genuine data from a genuine memory card save.
Honestly, if this weren't relating to emulation, this is like asking if a memory card save done on an SCPH-5501 could be read by an SCPH 9001. By all means it should work just as well if the data was saved as it should have been. You are fine between different versions of the emu, the memory card data will be read the same way, as an emulation of any kind will mimic the operation of the console in every way possible.... |
