Omega Boost

old one, but looks nice using ShadX's Natural Vision shader set at very high X/Y internal resolution and max shader level.

wow....those screenshots look ace. It doesn't even look like a PS1 game anymore

I think high X and Y slow down a lot on my GF4TI, but I have got to try that shader stuff sometime soon

Umm... just for comparison, could you please post those shots WITHOUT that shader enabled?

Indeed, it would be appreciated. Also, please attach the shader files as well, if possible.

sure thing , what settings do you want? the original PSX graphics? or with normal D3D/OpenGL1 plugins?

btw, those screens are only running at 800x600, it looks a bit better on 1024x768 but since its somehow ant-aliased already, it already looks nice , im trying to make a video out of it but i cant seem to get it right as it slows my PC down hehe.

the Natural Vision Shader was originally coded by ShadX, but modded by SimoneT to make it a bit faster,
my best config, OGL2, FF9
thats the one i used here.

I'd like to see both, if possible. Just for comparison. Man, those shots look really hot, indeed!

The first 8 pics are comparisons of different graphic settings used. First one is similar to the original PSX version, using Pete's Software plugin, the next two is D3D and OpenGL, set at best settings and finally the last one is the OpenGL2 with Shader enhanced detail (most noticable is the reduced aliasing and deeper/darker color and smoother filtering).

The remaining ones are using OpenGL2 shaders.
(Somehow, framebuffer effects such as motion blur is faster in OpenGL2 than D3D and OpenGL, mebbe because its using the pixel shaders?)

wow... it's like... wow... do we have any shaders that would implement bumpmaping? than many games would look better than PS2 games

It depends. How would a bump-mapper know where to insert bumps without an actual bump map present? I mean, just guessing it could mess up more stuff than the whole effort is worth...

yeah, you would need to modify the game itself to do that.

well its a good idea at least, making a specific shader instructions for each game but it would still take a lot of time

wow, that looks pretty sweet. finally a useful shader! if it's not too much trouble, could you get some Chrono Cross shots up? (maybe in a different thread so as not to disrupt this one) i'm not at home (aka not near any machine that can do pixel shaders) and i don't know when i will be

ah yes, thank Pete for that. that's one of the biggest reasons to use OGL2--it's vastly improved framebuffer support. check out any game with framebuffer stuff (like RPGs and their battle transitions, or this game), usually it looks better and performs better with OGL2.

I took some CC shots today but then I realized that I was playing it on ssspsx so no capture was saved :S Gonna give it a try on epsxe tomorrow

Btw, CC was kinda blurry with this shader, maybe I should try turning FSAA off?

@xsonic:
whats your graphics card? imo you need at least a GeForce FX\6\7 or Radeon X1xxx (which supports 4096x4096 texture formats) to make it look like those screenies.
if you have those, you just need to download Pete's OpenGL 2 2.8 plugin from this site and get ShadX's natural vision custom shader (ive provided the link earlier). How to apply the shader is already written on the Readme of the plugin.

You could try this my shader. it runs well with pure 2D games and lowX/lowY setting.
Ciao.
