I can't tell. Are the characters sprites or 3D models?

This game's kinda strange. The characters on the map and in your control screens are 2D sprites. The battles are badly animated 3D with super-deformed character models. (Most of the enemies are versions of amorphous blobs and other weird stuff) There's some REALLY good animation scenes, such as the opening. The best thing about this game though is the music, most definitely. It's another one of those PSX RPGs I'd actually recommend playing. (Along with Breath of Fire 3 and a few others. Valkyrie Profile's in there too.)

Indeed...the graphics were terrible, but we simply couldn't stop playing it. Nice amount of secrets as well

Hey DW gotta agree with you. Wonderful game, below average graphics. I own this one myself.
