2xSal mode is saturated however. 640x480 is the most 1337 though. Though true size should be 400 by 320 or something like that... forgot what the size of NTSC TVs is. I suppose if you get one of those TV Tuner thing-a-ma-jigs you could get some nice piccies. |

It's an RPG, in a strict sense I guess. The battles will either be extremely kickass or become extremely long-winded... kind of how you look at it. The game has an absolutely incredible story, and lots of good characters though. There're also multiple endings. The best one's hard to get. :P

Yeah, VP kicks a$$. You might find the Chapter/Period system a bit strange at first (along with the Einherjar sending stuff), but the depth of the story, the graphics in general and the cool battle system will make you overlook the few flaws the game has.

Doesn't suprise me at all, it's a great game. I acctually found the Valkyrie profile gold pack, which includes some extras, still being sold as new in a store in Japan, not sure what extras it had though.

Yeah, Valkyrie Profile was just rereleased in Japan as a "greatest hits" type of thing... but if you want it in english it's nearly impossible to find without paying a fortune. I hope they rerelease it here too ![]() Oh and I'll take some more screenshots... ^^ I'm happy this has more people interested in the game. |

By the way this makes for a intresting question, which is your favourite Valkyrie profile character? mine is Mystina.... well not counting Valkyrie/Lenneth herself atleast some of her lines are like the best in a game ever

Well, it depends: By battle efficiency I'd say Badrach because of his machine-gun-like attacks which can beat lots of crystals out of your enemies (especially huge ones ). Second-favourite is Lawfer, because he can raise your battle-gauge in no time. When evaluating the character's style, I'd also say Mystina (and Lezard). I didn't finish the game, yet (I'm in the middle of the 7th chapter), but I expect great things of them. |

Well, about the game, this one is actually THE best RPG I've ever played. I've beaten it 7 times already, and I still play it sometimes. But its not a game for everyone. Its very hard at first, and its also very complicated sometimes. Still, I really recomend it!!

60-70 bucks? Funny, I thought it was a good game, not that good though... but there're still copies being sold at my Gamestop for around 20-30... Very complicated sometimes? lol, I'd say it's very complicated all the time. It's not a typical RPG in any sense, other than the battles, and even they are pretty... "out there" I guess. Go into it knowing you're kind of playing the Katamari Damacy of RPGs and you'll be able to enjoy it fully. You'll appreciate this game a lot more if you just know the kinds of games Enix makes. (That is to say, strange games.) Terranigma might be an interesting game to compare Valkyrie Profile's story against. Last edited by Talbain; April 15th, 2005 at 02:35.. |

Well, thats why I love Enix! Their games are very uncommon and different! Its not like Square, where most games are always the same!! This game is perfect IMO. And it has the second best storyline I've ever seen on a RPG (the first is Xenogears)! But I think Talbain is not overreacting when he says "It's not a typical RPG in any sense...". Everything on this game is FAR from typical... even the battle system can be confusing at first! BTW, just an interesting fact: The ugly dragon on the screenshots is actually a VERY beaultifull girl (Aelia)!

my favourite part about it is its norse mythology, which i find the most interesting out of all those old religions. the unique battle system and exploration system is an added bonus.
