Final Fantasy VIII Screen Shots

I was playing around with the settings a bit and I have found these settings to be near perfect for my FF VIII, I have not tested the entire game, just a few parts of it, I will play through the entire game and report if anything wierd happens. I noticed at kane's domain they said if you use 2/2 you will get battle swirls but a delay in battle, well tht delay was non-existant for me, my battles are fine and I do get swirls.

Here are a few things which my settings helped me achieve:
+ Elimination of ATB blinking like crazy
+ A great decrease in characters moving back and fourth when changing screens
+ I've used a lot of screen smoothing, but I reckon it looks much better this way.
+ you can get swirls on the map.

Here are the settings:

interesting. kane and i tried your settings a while back and we got the pause. we both have 6800s by the way so it'snot like we are running crap.

anyway, very impressive shots. screen filtering is great

Actualy. I realised savestates were getting in my way. The game fix seems to solve the pause issue.

Those are pretty nice shots. But that blurring... I can't stand it personally. I like a crisp and clear picture. Call me strange, but I like it like that.

I'm the same way Esturk, I wonder how the blurry effect would look on a TV though?

I don't think you'd need it with a standard TV, since it would already get interpolated by the TV. In fact, it may make it even more blurrier.

I bet you're right Yea, the blurryness just doesn't do it for me Hey, can you take more shots with some settings changed to make it sharper?

Now those at 640x480 or 800x600 would look superb on a tv!

yeah, I'm with Esturk and Razor, dunno why but also hate all that blurr efect... those second shots are much better we just have to deal with that PSX gfx looks as it looks, not to blur it as hell

BTW. from some time I'm playing my psx games on my PS2 connected to pc via tv card, or sometimes I connect it to 29' tv, now that brings back memories and gets you that PSX feeling

that's probably because you're too young to understand that (no offence)

I think he means you're too young to appreciate unfiltered pixelated video gaming.

LOL, in that case he's wrong, I had a C64 back in my days. But why make it look like that, in epsxe, where games can acctually look good :S, that's probably what I'm too young to understand
