Anyway... while we're talking about running smoothly!
here's me running ff9 on my ubuntu linux laptop >
My laptop is actually running ff9 faster than it ran ff7 (by exactly one fps)

Maby because ff7 uses 8-bit textures and my gfx card doesn't get approved for those :/

Here's from the hell i went through to help a guy get past a balck-out point:

Inside caves really sucks! Maby it wasn't that much faster after all...



ingame menu pretty much the same as main menu



word map not much better. but still better.... than the fossil roo...

For some reason, it's not saving the fps part when i'm print screening in battles, sorry to leave ya out of that 2fps hell
