It's the PSOne BIOS, previously un-dumped

Re: This says it all

Carnage, that is a picture of the PSone BIOS running under PCSX Linux. There has never been a dump of it before, unless the dumper kept it quiet. It was dumped through the memory cards in 5 segments, and had to be pieced together. I also got the 9001 dumped the same way.

A revolutionary breakthrough.

PS.
DONT EVEN ASK FOR IT! I will NOT distribute either of these BIOS images as they are copyrighted material, and it would be the same as distributing rom files.

Nice shots Raziel, the SCPH10x series and the DTLHxxxx/H series had the best menu systems 'imho'. I was gonna post some shots, but well pretty much the whole BIOS is sum'd up in that

From my understanding it's a PSOne bios (the little PS1) that mike had dumped succesfully. It never been dumped before, so that's the news.

Are there any difference in compatibility?

Re: This says it all

From what I see, there is no difference really in compatibility. It may help with the HLE BIOS in PCSX, but at this moment, this BIOS is still too new to really say anything either way.

Razor Blade, this BIOS isn't really new. It has been out since the mini playstation, aka PSone. No one had ever successfully dumped it (or if they did, didn't say anything). The reason for this is the PSone lacks a parallel port or a serial port.

Re: This says it all

Is it legal to just ask how to do it myself? I've got a PSone and I'd be interested to dump it for my personnal use... PM me if neccesary, because I *think* I've got all the material necessary to do it, I just don't know how

Re: This says it all

Can you post the instructions for dumping the PSone bios as I would like to dump my euro PSone (SCPH-102) bios.

Re: This says it all

The 7502 BIOS is still the best because it can play all US and Japanese games.

I haven't tested it with PAL games but PAL is slow anyways.

Re: This says it all

DarkAurora: Actually, I would consider the PSone BIOS the best. It plays all PAL/NTSC games that the 7502, and reports are coming in saying it crashes less when using [pec].

As for the rest of you on dumping the BIOS, I have to talk to the author of the original PS program if he is willing to distribute it.
