QEMU and Win XP

It`s sweetness for all Emu WinXP fans currenly at linux. QEMU emulates Win XP almos perfect with small tweaks (sound). For reason unknown still crashes IE when connecting to MSN

Enjoy

Have you tried VirtualBox? That's another good virtualization program.

It`s very good. You can use your img file everywhere you want and you have QEMU. Just make it about 2.5G, copy it to a flash drive and qemu it on your debian machine

I use nLite sometimes to strip XP to the bone, and just use it for development environments. It's nice to have a machine up in 6 seconds, ready for programming.

If you go to the properties of My Computer it'll usually have your CPU speed at like 11Ghz as well. Or at least it usually does for me in virtual machines.

Just a shame that 3D acceleration in these VMs is crappy. It'd be nice to play some of the older games smoothly. They usually play like crap.

For me it's just very interesting to have 2 OS'es. Can't play games on first - go to second. Need some programming on first - change to first

imho qemu have opengl acceleration. if u need direct3d acceleration use vmware (server version is free).

virtual box is quit stable but there is no direct3d acceleration available (only direct draw).

best virtual machine is paralells desktop!!!

VMWare is the best but virtual box i cool too. However qemu is very useful running good at weak PCs like P4@1.7 GHz with 256 RAM Tested it - and vote for it!
