WINE and MAME FX

Cheers everybody! WINE is powerful enough to run MAME builds with the D3D support. I`m playing Tekken3 in MAME FX with almost 100% FPS. Some slowdowns if I have different programs. Take a look at the screen. I have 4 active deskops, various APPS and it still runs at full speed with a small exceptions.

Does netplay work via kailera?

I run sdlmame natively (OGL) and it works just fine for me.

Try FBA, it has even GGPO or WinKAWAKS for Kailera. They are both working under WINE. I don`t know if MAME FX has a net support?

uh. Wine isn't powerful.... its just a Win32 emulator, and anyone who says its not an emulator needs to look up the dictionary definition of the word, and not the hardware/software definition.

Wine can run Burnout Paradise, Prince of Persia and I've just finished CoD4 on it so yes, it is quite powerful.

guess what Wine does should be called simulation instead of emulation (I'm not 100% sure on the word "simulation" though).

and sometimes terminologies in computer science cannot be equalized to the common words, for example, a "mouse" in computers is definately not the same as the dictionary defination of "mouse"

... WINE works API related , Emus translate instructions from CPU Y to CPU X ( where X is mostly x86...)
So WINE is not an emulator, if u are unsure , check wikipedia...

The same for the graphics... No DX9 but a simillar lib-s. So anytime smb smart-enough to isntall DX9 or something like that ends up trashing WINE

lol trolled hard.

But I do agree. I wouldn't call WINE an emulator but it certainly has qualities of one. Meh.

Hahaha!

But it's their work. If Wine devs want it not to be called an emulator that's fine and it's not an emulator. Just like if the Dxbx and Cxbx guys want that to be called an emulator then it is one. Who cares either way?

"it's their work"

...now that's some reason. If I make a website, and I insist that it's not, it's not a website?

Wine is just as bad as holding back development as the Mame developers.
...I want to slap them with a wet dildo and send them home to mama.

just as long as no questions are asked, or answered on where the wet dildo was taken from.
