EeePC with 3Ds Max 6!!

You thought I was joking? ;p

Rendering takes a bit of time, and no full shader support in DirectX, but aside from that, any basic OpenGL and stuffs work fine. Which means... you can use the EeePC to work on quite a number of scenes.

As for render speed, it depends. For example, this one took like... 10s:

I'd have some screenshots of Flash and Photoshop as well, but... I'm lazy...

Break 30fps when you are looking down at the village from the mountain top, with maximum view distance (any value 10x the value set in the game) I dare you. ;p

I've been wondering if AutoCAD works... well... only one way to find out. Thing is... CAD on this thing would probably look very crowded on the interface. Maybe I'll try to grab a license for CAD 2009.

Also, Google SketchUp! works even faster and more flawlessly than 3Ds Max, which is totally awesome. I guess a netbook would be useful for a mesh designer on the go, too.

If you can make a laptop put on a sofa run at 20C for 2 hours straight, I lose. Of course the laptop has to have its case CLOSED.

No. It's beyond the scope of what I usually did. And didn't last that long to be called a cooling method.

But I thought your HD4870 ran Crysis at 70fps+ at all times with max AA? IIRC you posted screenies as well

Not with max AA. Maxing AA in that game is still much too expensive. Most I can do is run the game at over 60fps, but not with any AA at all.

Don't dare me? Because you know... I might just do it. ;p

Here's to scare some Eee 901 users:

That's about as much as a Eee 901 in Super Performance Mode (1.86GHz) would score.

Oh... did I mention I made the PS2 bios run at 65% (35-40fps) speed in PCSX2?
