Only. Note: only SSE2.If there was SSSE3 support, it might have been better. Heck, you even get SSE4.1 on the Atom aside from it having ludicrously faster clocks. Almost doubled this one. It's weird that you're not running it at more than that. ;p Need to tweak more, I guess? Try installing a modded driver for the GMA 950.

you may read the SSE4.1 entry in the console, but it says: NOT detected SSE4.1 ![]() Quote:
i did. it doesn't change anything, not even in PC Games. The Atom isn't faster than you think I think its equivalent to the 900mhz celeron, plus SSSE3, a lower power consumption and less heat. It struggles a lot when running vista in power saving mode, i always have to use maximum performace, otherwise its too slow to use. pcsx2 is also much slower in vista than in XP on it. FFX intro: XP: ~23fps (less or more) Vista: only 14-15fps Vista steals too much CPU performance for something, even when i use high priority for pcsx2. by the way: i ordered a 32GB runcore SSD, should arrive at the following week ![]() 50MB/s write, 70MB/s read ... wow.. thats a new experience to EeePC (when the Atom don't bottneneck it) :X

No, I know Atom isn't much faster, but at least you can use MTGS and DC with it, which apparently does boost performance a bit more thanks to better CPU usage. ;p (that option just slows it down for me) And SSSE3 is a fair bit faster than SSE2, too. No excuses! It's painful for me to accept it, too, but Atom is just much better than Celeron M for emulation. It might not help with PC games or anything else, but it does help exclusively for emulation. Plus its power consumption is excellent, too.

Or amen... use the modded Vista drivers to get native DirectX 10 support as well as native TnL emulation by Intel. AFAIK, 3DAnalyze kinda... bypass it and force DX TnL render or something... which may or may not work all the time. The modded Vista drivers, however, reportedly gave you support for the rest of the snuffs and stuffs, allowing heaps of newer games to run on GMA 950. See this: The Intel GMA 9xx Gaming Club Note, though... use at your own risk. ;p I don't even have a GMA 950 to try it out, but it seems to work, as I've seen videos all over youtube about this.

You're welcome. I'm kinda interested in seeing how this will work out on netbooks, seeing as to how... these drivers may just unlock something cool.On a side note, though, it really shows that Intel could always do proper drivers, but for some bizarre reason, they never do. ![]() Edit: here, a video of COD2 on GMA 950: COD2 didn't run before, but... tada, miracles worked by forcing mobile series 4 drivers on GMA 950.

But these drivers would't increase the framerate since a T&L emulator is running on the CPU and the Atom is the bottleneck in most games for me.

Plus it seems you also get more shader support out of it, since even COD4 would run with these.

I finally got my new SSD. Its not the runcore, its even a faster one ![]() SuperTalent FPM32GRSE with 32GB, 90MB/s read and 55MB/s write speed ! It runs like a dream! I thought i upgraded from a 386sx to a core2duo lol.... when you get a 90X or S101, get this SSD! its worth its price. But it needs the latest Bios update, otherwise it won't be detected.
