Pictures of your new games

Don't we all like to show off our just-bought games, or our existing collection? ^^

Here's my latest addition to the ever expanding collection of games: Evil Twin. It's still new and sealed though there is a large crack in the case, unfortunately. It's almost as if it has been cut with a knife because the seal has got the same cut. Now I have to find some time to play the game, there are still way too many DC games I bought or recieved the last couple of months but never gave enough attention: MDK2, Sonic Adventure, Vanishing Point (I'd rather play F355), Tekken 3, Gran Turismo 2 (still need to get the PSX games), The Nomad Soul, South Park - Chef's Luv Shack.

Forgive the quality of the pictures, but I didn't feel like looking for batteries for my digital camera.

Ps. Samor, that paper is my dagvaarding so that I won't forget to show up

Oh Jesus. Does this mean I have to send a picture of my 300 PSX games?

I know my Nokia 6230 camera sucks, but to gauge how big those games are. The thing to the left is a full sized tower and the thing to my right is my old computer table.

Now people might start to realise why I prefer using ISO files.

My PC game collection is over 140 games, but no pictures of them. Once i get a better camera, hells yeah.

BTW, within that collection are numerous rarities, including both Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete. Both are totally complete (as in, with maps, pendant, character carboard stands, etc).

evil "dagvaarding"....

ok, fun topic.
I had my birthday and got Metroid Prime Pinball and Advance Wars Dual Strike for the DS.

The picture here shows the boxes of the DS and GBA games I have (I never had a GBA before the DS, btw). The bigger box is the GBA movieplayer, and if you read my Blog you'll know that it allows one to do all kinds of things with the DS that it wasn't supposed to do

Of course the DS isn't the only system I have, but I'm not gonna spoil everything just yet ...this thread needs to grow and get big first

Shot's taken with the same crapcam as Industrian, only with customized lighting (tm)

I presume you guys have heard of Gibby?

Mine own collection consists merely of several cupboards of discs, nothing much to look at. Sadly, many bargain bin games don't even come with covers, just a jacket. Hang onto your posters and manuals

Blasphemy. All my games have to be with cases/covers/manuals and disks. It annoys me greatly when arseholes on eBay can't even add the two words "includes manual" onto their listing. TWO WORDS!!! ARGHH!!!

At the highest point, my PS2 collection was 58 games and Gamecube 10. All PAL, all sold by last November. I'm now rebuying NTSC versions and am at 16 and 12 respectively.

BTW, if I were to stack all my PSX games I'd have two stacks reaching my cieling. And I have still have 100 left on my "to buy" list.

so you're totally done with PAL?

I prefer covers and manuals with my games, it ain't too easy though with my collection of the older MSX stuff. Even just the carts change owners for pretty high prices...

Not with my PSX games. I'd cost me a fortune to rebuy all my games with NTSC versions. It's bad enough that I like my games to be "as original as possible" (as in: no platinum versions, if they're 1996/7 I like having them without the PlayStation mark and in the old-school double CD-cases.) I've bought the original Tekken numerous times because my original was platinum with no manual, second one was the cardboard ex-rental, and the third (and one i use right now) is the total original. I take pride in knowing that I have the original Ridge Racer and Battle Arena Toshinden, the games that started it all.

It started with the Gamecube when I realised Nintendo was taking the piss out of Europeans with their retarded European GameCube. And I'm taking a wiiiiiiild guess I'm not the only European who uses at least S-Video. Then I made the decision to buy North American PlayStation 3 and Revolution consoles, so I might as well get North American PS2 games just incase the head of Sony Australia was talking crap about the PS3 being region free.

And since I use a TV-in card for my PS2 and GameCube, there's no real concern about using NTSC.

I see

I use SCART with my PS2, DC and MSX2; I have s-video cables for DC and PS2 as well, and I can hook them up to a TV card.
For DC I also have a VGA box, which I used to use a lot before, but since i have a bigger TV now (no HD, mind, that will have to wait for a while) I prefer that.

Nintendo's support for Europe is piss-poor by the way. Also with the NDS. 4 out of the 10 games I have are US releases, of which 2 aren't out in Europe (yet).

They HAD an advantage of half a year in Europe, because of Sony's delayed PSP release, but they didn't make use of it at all - by the time they finally started releasing some games here the PSP was already out. I don't know the sales figures in Europe, but I wouldn't be surprised if the PSP's already outselling it here, regardless how well the NDS might do in Japan.

I know. They wouldn't release a crippled Gamecube in America, why do it in Europe? I know they used that stupid "Europeans use SCART" line, but that's BS. At LEAST give us S-Video. As for "480p is for NTSC only", how about leaving us with at LEAST the option of Digital AV Out and maybe, just maybe, a developer would have made a game with 576p. Nintendo only care about Japanese gamers, because that's where the majority of their money is made.

I once used a VGA Adapter (with hilarious Engrish on the box) for my PS2. The image quality ruled. Now i use S-Video and Dscaler, it's even better.

I'll be aiming for a widescreen monitor as well, but that costs money. But with two consoles on the way, a much required laptop and general cost of living, I don't see how I can fit it in just yet.

you prefer S-video over SCART?
I tried both on my PS2, and after a long examination I concluded SCART looked better, but it wasn't exactly a large difference....
or are there some games that would look better with S-Video instead.. ?
GCN not having S-video at all is bad though; TV-cards usually don't have SCART either.

The DC's VGA output is kinda "special" btw, because the DC itself supports a "true" VGA signal. Meaning, no filtering tricks of any kind, it's like your PC in 640x480 mode, and razor-sharp. I'd say it was a little too sharp at times, even (it made it much easier to spot graphical imperfections in games).

My dad paid a lot of money for a SCART cable that resembles a rope (it's heavy as hell) and the quality we get on our main TV is awesome. No glitches, no "grainy" effects or traces of scanlines.

I prefer S-Video mainly due to the fact that I don't have a TV. I move home around every three months, and there's only so much I can carry myself. For that reason alone I have to settle for generic mediocre 2.0 speakers when I have GigaWorks S750s at my parent's house gathering dust.

Another thing is, isn't SCART just all three RCA leads combined into one feed?

Plus I was impressed by Metal Gear Solid 3's quality with my S-Video on my TV-in card w/ DScaler. According to someone in America I talk to who uses Component, it bordered on that kind of quality.

Yeah, svideo+dscaler can be mighty impressive as well. When I ran Sonic CD (Sonic Gems Collection, PS2) in DScaler it looked about the same as it did in Kega with DDraw acceleration. I guess that's pretty good

I don't think SCART is just the RCA leads combined... I do know they're ugly big cables that have the tendency to wear out pretty quickly if you aren't really gentle with them, but they give the best analog signal I know....

composite <<<< svideo < scart

I use a scart cable for my DC and I could easily spot the difference when compared to composite. Too bad my cable ain't that good because it doesn't put the image on the screen correctly, I'm having a black border at the right of my screen, so I'm still looking for a new DC scart cable with audio out.

I'm still looking for a good VGA box as well, just for the experience. I guess that it's with 2d that it might look as nice as it's supposed to, right Samor? You once told me about the skies in Shenmue, and I know that the skies in Shenmue 1 are 2d, while the ones in Shenmue 2 are textures.

Btw, nice collection you have Industrian, especially those rare games you own. I'm with you guys when it comes down to those boxes. They used to sell every game with a cool box you could display, nowadays you would have to buy a limited edition to get one. I'm glad I've got some nice boxes of the FF games, see picture below. I also still have a box of Dungeon Keeper 2, and all my GB and most of my NES boxes. I threw away a good bunch of my NES boxes because they were completely trashed, just like some manuals, which I did keep. Some time ago I was reading some of them again, and I noticed how I used to colour the images ^^

And what about the PAL cube? Is it composite only?

Oh and before I forget, please keep warez out of this thread, this is for your legit collections only. Pictures are a must, obviously

Well, it's not exactly my new games but here's a few from my small collection:

I take these when I tried to sell them off recently, I change my mind though at the end

here's a (sort of) old pic of my PSX collection which happens to be next to my music CDs...i've bought a bunch more games and CDs since then, so its a little more filled out.

my DC/N64/SNES/DVD/PS2/GC collection is elsewhere though...this is just my (small) beloved PSX collection. gotta love gamestop, i am slowly building up my collection through used games...

Nice twin towers you have Hushy. Buying used games is a good way of expanding your collection in an affordable way. I think about 40% of my DC games and 50% of my NES games were used, all being in very good condition of course. Some games you just can not find sealed anymore, like Shenmue and RE CV.

@Samor: What, no Shadow the Hedgehog?

And Didimangi, you have a lot of games I still have to play, though most of them are the kind of games I usually only buy whenever I am already buying a 'must have' game from the same seller (for the combined shipping). I'm not that much of a 2d fighting fan.
