Addition: Offtopic, but I also just ordered a new processor (3800+ X2) and TV-in card with Component-In. Hopefully I'm gonna be blown away by Dscaler and that badboy.
Hah. I'm dying to play SotC. Looks like a great game. And lucky for your Saga DVD. :P

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls.

IT HAS ARRIVED!!! ALL MUST HAIL!!

Close up of the Limited Edition.

I also got these two games. Had to pay £25.57 customs fees for the two packages. WTF. Apparently every package worth more than £18 is subject to them. Damn Labour government... *grumble*

I don't think it will. But with what I've seen, "Limited Edition" bundles are normally announced just before the game is released. And according to Play.com, Subsistence arrives in Europe on 16/06/2006.

Just wondering here, why don't you go with the PAL version of Colossus? CMIIW but isn't it supposed to be better content wise? I mean, it came out with 4 art card, special box case and the making of in the DVD right? Unless you already bought the PAL version....

I sold my US version of Colossus to save up for the PAL version myself

I have NTSC and PAL PS2 and GC consoles, but I prefer having NTSC games. Plus, buying the PAL version would mean getting ripped off. I paid £15 for the NTSC one, PAL would have set me back £29.99 (at Play.com). That and the better performance with NTSC and uniformity with my collection.

Plus, it was an impulse buy.

so how much did you spend on that entire set, industrian?

im a huge MGS fan, but also pretty broke. my MGS3 regular edition was $30, and i can get the the saga DVD for $20 flat (from yeloazndevil). i could've spent a lot more on ebay but i decided not to. i could've (should've..) gotten LE for 40 bucks retail but meh...oh well. you snooze you lose.

I feel quite screwed up typing this, but £75. Considering new PS2 games sell here for £35...

MGS2 and Stella Deus were cheap though. Postage from the US and the surprising customs tax was the killer.

What can I say. Impatient European with money + game and features he's wanted for months + boredom at university = spend teh l££t.

One thing about Stella Deus made me laugh though. The female characters have their measurements in the manual. @_@

BTW: I'm not playing Subsistence until my new TV card comes. It'll be my benchmark.

Ha, Gamestop totally ignored the "Reserve Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence for the LE!" crap. :P Which worked out perfectly for me. I just went to Gamestop and asked for the LE the minute the store opened. ;P

Idustrian: :O Saga DVD and MGS2: S! Lucky lucky you. :P

It's the SweetSpot Video Processor. I believe it's called the PDI Deluxe outside the UK.

http://www.pixelmagicsystems.com/pro...pdi_deluxe.htm

I'm praying that it's gonna give me noticably better visuals on Dscaler. If not ... I take it, dump it with my soon-to-be-replaced P4 and sell a "HTPC" for around £1000.

I'm a collector. At least this means I can sell my PC version of Substance.

It doesn't support progressive scan or HD resolutions. From what I've read though (on the UK site before they took it down) it's great at what it does. Plus, the developers apparently hang out at AVForums and are willing to help with any problem.

Getting a TV card that can do progressive scan and HDTV requires a PCI-Ex16 slot, a dual-core 2gb ram system, and around $3000-4000. And even then, Dscaler and most other TV software wouldn't support it.

I've learnt my lesson from both the LE+Saga and the X-Box 360, I'll be buying four PS3s this year and praying for UK shortages. ^_^

The story of my (and most people here's) life.

BTW: some more games I got in the mail.

Edit: Lol-worthy point. If you thought I paid too much (£75) for MGS3: Subsistence, in Onimusha 1's manual I found the original owner's receipt from when they bought it in 2001. £60 it cost them. @_@

wow, that's amazing. the most i ever recall paying for games was $60 or $65 (in USD), and this was back in the early/mid 90s buying SNES games.

oh, there was something that happened this morning that i forgot to post! dang. sorry for the asscrap pics, the UPS guy came to my door when i was still asleep, and i rushed to take all the pictures without fiddling with camera settings or even trying much. oops.

apologies to Cid Highwind and his crappy 800x600 resolution

hmm what could this be? Play Asia? looks like a dildo. that logo on the box would confirm it...

YES!!

apparently they were giving out "free gifts" like games, pouches, screen protectors. they gave me this game. uh, thanks playasia. a japanese GBA game that i have no desire to play. awesome.

next to my Razr.

man, the screen is BRIGHT! i absolutely love it so far. i was playing Feel the Magic, Polarium, and Tetris DS. getting ready to go online and pwn at some Tetris right now
