i know it doesnt apply to this case but i dont think its ever a good idea to pair up a bluetone picture with a redtone picture, the colours just clash and are mispleasing to the eye. now... lighting is a bit tricky as well, too much light and its bad, too little, and the image is gone. each picture needs its own values, though typically light and dark pair up with warm and cool colours, it really takes some adjustment to find out whats best for each picture, dont let the computer do it for you with "auto levels"

the use of pictures is really important as well, i know its often hard to find a good picture of the exact thing you want but if you have a sig themed on a character he/she is going to be the point that the eye focuses on, so that character needs to look good or it throws it off

anyways this is a pretty long post, sorry if i said anything mean

im just trying to give pointers

thanks, i learned most of them through art classes and books actually, its good to know the basics of normal art if you want to make digital art
