Post pics when you get it to a level where you think it's good enough to show off. Good luck with learning Maya. I actually tried that tutorial of the 7 year old Maya expert made. It was actually pretty helpful and gave me some hope to one day learn how to do 3D modelling.

What are your career goals? You seem to be interested in the design field, from what I've seen you post so far. I'm not sure though, which is why I'm asking.

Either MBA, or a diploma in multimedia.

In maya object modeling is pretty easy, and real fun.

You can do it, obviously better than the year old. That is nothing.

About the DS-lite, I am unable to group 2 or more objects in one. So, if Fadz can help me with that, then I could continue with an animation.
Its almost finished though.

Use 'shift' to select the objects you wanna group, then press 'ctrl + g' ^^
you can make a layer with those objects too so that you make those invisible while you work on other parts :]

Oh my, this is awesome. I was gonna say the fang looks a bit flattened out at the top, but when zoomed out it actually looks okay. Can't wait to see it finished.

Not finished yet, I don't have much time these days because of my college.

Grouping works but objects break apart when rotating.
Is there some way to permanently group 2-3 objects ?
And how to colour in maya ? I did one day, but I forgot.

Dude, that's awesome! I'm looking at my brother's Nintendo DS and it looks pretty accurate. Good start. Good job!

I wish I could do that.

I'm a 3D noob, but I think that you have to do something with the materials to change the color. Not sure though.

There are a couple options for coloring:
The main three ones are:
1. Assign material using texture.
2. Assign 2D texture through importing images
3. Assign UV on imported images
4. 3D painting

As for grouping, you have to rotate the group as a whole through the outliner.

Yeah, my brother's DS Lite is rounded on the outer center hinge. But it is a really good start.

Thanks, well you might still see me here on the forums every now and then, i just wont be drawing anymore (i get in a weird trance whenever i draw messes up my concentration on other stuff, long story...)
