Vector tip: Fat lines for shadows, thin lines for light, thick lines for highlight or emphasis, and skinny lines for insignificance.

That's for AAA+ impression.

I remember that from graph comm
but I though it only applied to realistic render drawings

(I drew some AWESOME schematics for stuff)

Thanks dude!

does the various white airbrushing still apply for shiny objects?
that guitar neck is delta metal which is super shiny

Well, the guy I drew earlier had those kinds of lines. They are called varied lines, and they are mostly for impressions. Mangas use them a lot. As for the shiny objects, you can try cel-shading with high contrast.

schumi was talking about Frederik's right hand in your drawing.

that its just showing a few stubs as fingers.

... well i think thats what he was talking about.

btw, why is the "fraction" logo watermarked ontop of the picture?

I was just testing watermarking with a new program,
btw, I thought schumi was referring to my drawing technique

the right hand is actually half closed against the wall behind him

it'll make sense when more is done

these pics are all just the major groundwork - I've still to add details and stuff

Well it's just that at this stage the right hand does not look convincing as a hand whilst the left one looks fine.

nah it looks ok...but seriously mine is the last word you should take seriously when it comes to art....I simply have no understanding of modern art and art which is too abstract/surrealist.

For me the jacket and pants look the best though...the rest is kinda undetailed compared to them so I hope that simply means that the rest is still mostly unfinnished.

yeah, they're totally unfinished

there's tons of little details to be put on the guitar/face
then there's reflections and varied thickness lines and stuff

the only reason I posted such an unfinished mess is to see what wasn't right

"people can't smell their own BO"
just like they can't see occasional flaws in drawings - same type of thing

Ahh ok, well then all is well atm

Or wait a second...what's the floating orange spot in line with the guitar head (I hope that's it's name) to it's left.

O yeah and one more thing...where's the other shoulder strap? should there not be 2?

once those 2 things are either explained or fixed there will be no more problems at least that I can see atm.

Oops and one more thing...on the left where the jacket seperates it's arm piece...it should be a fair bit higher up (probably about in line with shoulder strap buckle) considering where it is on the right...(not sure which line is meant to be the seperator and which is a crease though)

and what's that yellow thing coming out of the collar?

(Why do I always only see these thing so late....sorry about that).

Oops and one more thing...on the left where the jacket seperates it's arm piece...it should be a fair bit higher up considering where it is on the right...in fact it should run straight up (not sure which line is meant to be the seperator and which is a crease though)

(Why do I always only see these thing so late....sorry about that).

it's cool, that orange part is a string tree template I made,
and the second strap is just turned off

in Corel everything is layered and can be turned off for convenience and ordering stuff around

there's lots of little mistakes that are intentional so far,
like the volume knobs not being 3d or there being no strings etc

as for the jacket, it's actually the front layer being transparent and the shadow cast by the strap

once all the ground work is done it's just a case of turning the layers I need on and then adding lighting details
