Watermarking is supposed to be seen while remaining discreet
I'd rather make it a part of the drawing, like putting a logo on a piece of ornament or part of clothing. And somewhere else in a corner where it doesn't bother anyone... just an advice

It's been a while since I've worked on one of my big projects. Here's a WIP of the first icon of my cartridge icon set. It's coming along pretty nicely if I do say so myself. I'm planning to make a png dock pack and a standard icon pack. The final version of the cartridges won't have game labels on them (even though they make them look a lot better) because I want to keep them as generic as possible. It was made in Illustrator using basic vectors and blends. I was initially going to use the mesh tool but that tool is almost impossible to use. It's too frustrating to make it work the way I want to. Blends do just as good, maybe even better than meshes as long as you know how to utilize blends the right way. I was considering making it in raster because you can achieve realistic lighting effects and the other benefits of raster, but everything must be in vector to retain scalablity and editability, which is why I chose the vector route.



There should be about 16 cartridge icons in total. Then I'll start working on my disc set when I'm done with this set...

I'm really starting to love working in Illustrator. Here's another WIP. Made in 100% vector, as always and I've been working on it for about 3 hours so far. It's the Sonic & Knuckles Sega Genesis Cartridge for those people who can't read. It's not finished, but I thought that it was good enough to post.
