I'll do later, I want to keep the crappy stuff out of my gallery, that's why most of it is in the scrap category ^^' But once this one will be finished, I think it will deserve to be in the main one

Fadingz: Your skills improved quite a lot in a pretty short time, I beg you to slow down a bit so I don't feel like doing **** in the next couple of months ^^'

Viper: It gets better too, and you seem to draw cleaner/thinner lines, that's a good change... makes your drawing much cleaner.

Guys, keep drawing

Nemesis crashing into the halloween costume party in the right place at the right time , Jill please be so kind and escort him around...
And oh! T-103 a.k.a Mr.X is on the hot seat!!! > Miss Redfield seems is really accommodating and even gave him a present

>> ah! yer back! very nice lady hehe, the shading is really nice
Heh thanks, still working on it though... some minor details to finish, a BG to make... this one should rock in the end. Well, I say that everytime before I finally give up, just hope it will be true

BTW, your scanner does a good cleaning job, but hopefully it didn't make the lineart all by itself
Oh, and Nemesis seems to be a little socially awkward ^^

Well, with this resolution and color correction, it's hard to tell if it's a scanner or a cam ^^'
What matters is that it looks good

Dunno really what to say about this, its just some random stuff again, some sort of weird cybernetic fairy girl whatever hehe...
Damn scanner, the scanner lady screwed up again >.<, those annoying dark patches are all over the place lol (i presume they are not depressed enough to be scanned by the scanner?

Weird dark patches... but I really like the concept of the cyber-fairy, I actually thought of making one not long ago. Why? I love both chicks and cyber stuff
Also it's good to see something more original than fancomics/fanart (liked them though).
Just keep drawing random stuff, it rocks ^^

supposed to be a random chick hehe, but her face looked like some sort of doll so i decided to make her something like an android.
btw, will prolly rescan it later, but played with some filters and it eventually looked like this...

Good, now you can color it :>
Really dude, your lineart is pretty nice but it would be so much better if you put more perseverance in attempting to color

Yeah, somehow the last one with filter looks like something that was traced and ready to be colored lol(kinda like begging to be shaded or colored), im still trying to figure out some basic shadings though (shadows and stuff)

I like that pic a lot, Viper.
If you want to shade it, use a new layer, fill in the shadow with black color then put soft light as the blending method .
You might want to create a shadow layer for each base color since soft light with black color has different effect based on hue, saturation, and brightness.
Use pentool -> fill path for smoother edge!
and always use pen tool for coloring too, rather than selection tool.

That's the method I used for Bytch Volley end I ended up using hundreds of layers, while I only have a couple of them on my current WIP. The new method I use is a layer only painted in grayscale (dodge and burn to alter shadows/highlights), Curve layer where I tweak the RGB curves to get the color I want on a specific area.
Repeat everywhere you need to do something complex. For easier stuff, just paint colors directly for a quick (but decent) preview, you'll polish later when the drawing is near completion.
You can take my MSN if you need some help with it

Shading on paper can help indeed, you just have to know how to use the photoshop tools to make them smoother. I also use the Smudge tool a lot along with Dodge and Burn, if you correctly use them, you don't even need a tablet. I used mine only once on this pic, and I had hard time doing good stuff with it -_- (it's a cheap crappy one though, avoid any brand except Wacom)

Trust is VERY nice too. Only these 2 brands get my FUD-piercing attention, personally. Pressure levels and inclinaison matter more than size (actually, smaller means more portable specifically, so unless tablet features realtime display of the stuff you draw, its just a waste of shinies to use big ones. Had a4 one, so big I'll have to use a Bamboo when it ships here )

Yeah, it doesn't have to be big for home users, postcard size is comfy enough if you'
