For anime/manga, just google the anime with the style you like and try to duplicate it without tracing it.
At least that's what I did for start xD
Then you can try to rotate the image '3-dimentionally' in your mind and draw the same character with the same pose from a different angle.

Keep doing the same thing over and over again, once you can draw any angle without looking at teh original image, you are good to go

Try deviantart then, to get some tut, but remember -- art tuts are just guides and tips.
There's no one way to make art.

At first, you probably have to look at it, but try to get it as close as possible when you are looking at the image.
Look and copy for like ~10 times?
or until can probably remember the picture by heart.

Move onto another image with different pose if you still can't turn the image in your mind.

So on so forth...

First few poses are probably the hardest, it'll get a lot easier as you practice more.
Once you get used to all the pose and stuff, then you can produce anything from your mind, presumably.

Most of all try to enjoy when you practice, since sometimes it can translate to your works, in some cases there are some folks that can draw well but it kinda look dead/lifeless, and there are also stuff that doesn't look very good but has interesting stuff to it....or maybe its just me...

anyway...

Anyone know Doraemon??? >_>
Doraemon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When i was trying out on drawing Nobita he kinda looked like Kazufusa from Rabuyan (i betcha most folks dont know this) so i modified him a bit...

Dear lord, how graphic. Original, too.
Could Pokemon be next, with tiger-sized pikachus ?

@Hard core Rikki: Ive already seen a tiger/feline like Pikachu and an adult lookin ash somewhere in the net and it was wtf lol. Same thing i did with Mario last time.

@raksmey1309: hmmm, i guess you should try doin some semi realistic/realistic stuff first like most people do to get familiar of the actual human anatomy and face.

@SCHUMI-4-EVA: Oh well, it's the way i do it and i kinda enjoy it so i will keep doin it hehe.
