Umm...this post might seem weird but I need an approval of sorts...
I've been writing the story for my new art project, taking bits and pieces from different PC games, movies and books.
However, I wanted to know whether there is any point of starting the work on the artistic side of this endevour.
And since this is the only place where I'll be posting anything art-related, I'm asking you for a minute of your time to go through the basic outline of the first 20 pages that I'm planning right now:

Earth, April 17, 2392, was a bleak date as a coalition of alien races, known only as the swarm, declared war on Humanity and made their move to seize control of our race to use us as food and raw material for studies and experiments.
The war lasted just over 7 hours (relation to the universe of Half Life 2, the 7 hour war between Humanity and the Combine Empire) with the Human army completely destroyed, no prisoners, no survivors.
The alien faction then turned its attention to the rest of us, claiming what was left for itself.
It seemed to be the end until a girl, who managed to escape her captive's camp and survive the harsh wastes that were once LA, stumbled upon a sealed bunker door.
After hours of searching she finally managed to find a way to open the door and get inside.
Inside she found herself on the first floor of a massive underground facility (relation to the Resident Evil franchise) that somehow remained undetected by the alien armada scouting the planet from high orbit.
The facility was completely abandoned, and after covering every inch of the place the girl again realized she was all alone.
After growing accostumed to the place, she managed to find a big food storage, lots of fun things to do with pre-war equipement, and tons of documents and papers to read.
One document however caught her attention - it indicated that people from that facility were aware of the impending doom decades before it happened.
She also found mentioning of some sort of weapon not of this world that was the only way to stop the invasion, but that the personnel never had the chance to use it because they couldn't figure out how, and by the time they got close to solving the puzzle it was already too late.
And so the girl decided to venture deep underground to find that weapon, to see what could be done for those who are still alive on the surface...

I know, I know, it is very long and probabely boring, but if you happen to like it just a tiny bit, I can give you some "visual aids" next time I visit this page.
Also, I'm exhausted, so forgive me if I wrote kindda stupid...

It's not exactly boring, just seeing as you said you based it off games and stuff it sounds rather generic. Something like Fifth Elemement + MegaMan Zero + Fallout

Also if the aliens never detected the facility what enemies will there be? traps a few decades old?

[scratching head] Don't know...and I don't want to disclose more than I wrote already...besides, even if the story sounds generic, I've found a way to make it quite exceptional - in my head...the biggest issue would be to make blood and gore feel real in black and white, so I might use Sin City as one of the sources as well...I'll start working on the thing in a couple of hours - after I'll get some food first...

Yes im still newb at this but here's some quick early sketchy attempt while im chattin with MrKilljoy in YM using the TX2000 lappy tablet

Layers are goddamn useful lol, makes erasing and managing things easy (noob comment XD )

More like drawing on a laptop hehe, it's a HP Pavillion TX2000 with Wacom Penabled digitizer screen (similar to Cintique) where you can directly draw on screen (with varying pressures). The screen can swivel and re orient itself so it goes to a tablet mode. (ive posted the specs and pics in the show your comp section)
Color? not for a long time, im still learning on how to do the lineart and sketching hehe...

You have a lot of practice in drawing anime. I think I'll also get a tablet soon. Drawing on paper is such a pain.
