Just as a note to vector artists out there, Illustrator CS4 sucks. Not worth the upgrade. The new features aren't bad, but they are not what a vector artist neccessarily needs. Plus, font sizing still sucks. How about adding features that are actually needed or fixing things that don't work right like stokes screwing up when converted to outlines? Strokes being allowed to be aligned to the outside or inside of text instead of aligning to the center? There are dozens of things that I can think of that should be implemented but probably wouldn't be though. I wonder if they take suggestions. Adobe is giving out useless crap in small doses lately. Does anyone know of a vector program that is accurate with the text sizing? I tried Inkscape, but it still has innacurate font sizing. A program that I use at work (FlexiSign Pro) doesn't have that problem. When I tell it that I want a font to be 72 points (one inch) in height, it will be 72 points in height. In Illustrator, I tell it to be 72 points in height, and it ends up being completely off when I measure it. Meh. Anyways, who measures fonts in points nowadays unless you're in the newspaper business? Not anyone in the sign business, that's for sure. [/rant]

As for Photoshop CS4, haven't had the time to install yet. Plus my computer is running slow. Time for a fresh install very soon, then I will install CS4 and check it out. I will post my opinions when I check it out though. I expect to be disapointed.

CS4 Installs and setup changes of any sort are reported to take more than one hour (supposedly even if you install only one app). Quite the tricephale tentacle monster it has become, over the years.

It has become bloatware and they are scrambling to to think of new ideas to implement that take forever to develop and end up being completely useless. How about morph, being able to natively open/save icon libraries, proper gif format import, live liquefy using brushes as opposed to doing it in a seperate window, proper 3D paint, layer styles that don't suck, proper integration with Illustrator instead of the smart object thing that is has, proper vector format import instead of rasterizing vector information prior to opening? Meh. And yes, the install time has gradually become more and more unecessarily long.

Anyways, what do you guys think is the best graphic design tutorial site out there? I want to start making some video and text tutorials but I want to make them on a site that is popular and that would probably get more exposure.

BRAKE THROUGH!!!

I finally managed to brake out of my state of mourning and lack of inspiration.
I am returning to work and will be posting the results on this coming Saturday.

Note: I have taken the Dragon Ball related content and gave it a very dark, uncensored and M-rated twist, since I've decided to make my recent loss part of my inspiration and express it through pencil works.
