Just not liking the darkish skin + darkish red/pink clothing...

Gray then Perhaps? Dark Green? Dark Purple?

hmmm.....you could lighten your own photo, turn it into black and white or sepia (or leave it as it is) and tile it in the background layer along with all the other stuff.

But don't mind if this doesn't look very good though, I've never had a good taste for art ever

I did not understand your point, Is it my avatar that you are talking about?
Here is my sketch, I'm still trying to improve my sketches.

I won't use cell shade~
Stocking will just be a pattern overlay :], I'll add materials to each piece of cloth/metal as well ^^
I'm making the innter cloth a mesh as well xP
I have a feeling you should look at Feimo's or Heise's works for reference. Here's one from Heise:

They are good at surrealistic human drawings, which are pretty much Chinese specialties.

Because up until now, I still can't make out what you are doing that doesn't add that surrealistic touch to your artworks even though they are far above average. Could be the color choice... or the background... or maybe the way you draw clothes. Or wait... I think it's the way you draw clothings. Drapery is not your specialty... is it?

That's why I need to practice
I found a way to put texture on and looks well, however, so that part is solved.

I tend to go my own style as well XD
I only look at other people's work for object perspective (foreshortening and etc), contrast, and color depth.
For color choice, I tend to lean towards yellow/red, and that's totally personal preference since I like warmer color better.
Perhaps people who like cold color better might not like my color choice, but if I do the other way, then the same yet opposite effect would happen.
If I stay neutral, then the image would be just boring~
Heise, according to the image you posted, has cold color preference btw.

Nice sketch ^^
The left face (our right) seems off.
You need to make that side more perspective.

Hmm... for perspective with foreshortening... and such (gosh, I hate art terms. Why did those artists have to "invent" such terms? To make themselves more sophisticated? Gee... ), you should try drawing skeletons.

Well, half skeleton.

It's the perspective angle of the head.
The chin is a bit sharp, the cheekbone is too protruding, and the two eyes are not warped around the face at the same angle.
The left face (the right face in the pic) seems nice except for the jawline ^^
You can try to draw a sphere for the skull first, then a curve line to line up the eyes and then two lines intersect the chin. This way you can live teh face in perspective view ^^

Ok thanks, I'll try that but can't change this one cause I used charcoal pencil, If I erase it then there will be pencil marks all over.

I think it'll take some time to to take in all the features which apps like Photoshop CS3 have to offer. But I guess it's an investment which will pay off eventually.

I don't know how to use photoshop only some tinkering with brushes and photo enhancement. And I can use it only on my friends comp, I don't have it.

Ahhh.....I see you're not a pirate

Anyway, if you really want to learn it, I think there are loads of tutorials out there on the net. Or, you could just consult the Help and support within Photoshop itself. But it is a very tiresome process, getting to know a whole lot of art terms which I absolutely hate.

I know about the tutorials but then I would have to go to the only one person in my class who has it and he gets quite grumpy when I open up too many programs and windows .
Plus he lives far away. It took me so much of pleading to get him to teach me how to use the brushes to just make my very own signature.
