So does a special/gaming mousepad really help?

yeah, tons actually
after getting it I was consistently coming top in my usual half life 2 dm server
the deathadder is a simple mouse with only two extra buttons
(2 big sidebuttons)

the action is super smooth but with a little bit of grip for accuracy, there's custom software profiling for various game macros and stuff with five switchable profiles and on the fly sensitivity
the mouse wheel is p*e*r*f*e*c*t , it's big silent and just feels absolutely godly to use - plus it lights up blue
this mouse is the very definition of comfort

and the sharkoon pad is pefect for me, it's a big pad with a good and acurate
smooth texture surface unlike the hard abrasive razer mats

smooth fluid movement is key to winning and makes just general pc use just feel better

lol I was asking about the mousepad not the mouse.

I myself have a very cheap gaming mouse, the Trust GM-4200 "Predator" (3 extra buttons), (800 or 1600 DPI) so I know all about how much better than you average work mouse a gaming mouse is. I was just curious if a gaming mousepad actually helped any though (mainly for general smoothness, not neccessarily intense FPS sessions).

Because if so when I get another mouse in the future I may choose to go for a gaming mouse+gaming mousepad bundle.

It's served me well this mouse, but after year of use the scrollwheel has started squeaking some of the time so I may start looking for a replacement soon.

I see you bought that at Cbit I can see the Cbit sticker on it. Why only a Q6600? and why did you take the photo in a convience store? Is it run by your parents?

yeah the mousepad makes things smoother all round, from feel to response
the mouse isn't as twitchy on this mat as the previous glass pad I had
but stil extremely acurate

Yeah, I had to fill in for my brother today, he's usually here but he needed to do some stocking and inventory check at my dads other store. And I'm giving my E6600 to my parents, their old CPU (my former AMD XP 2500+ ) recently bit the dust. I have a cheap LGA775 board as a spare so I'll be giving it to them. Giving them my current RAM also, got some Crucial Ballistix coming in .

I love that key board too! >,<
The only downside is that it picks up hella of finger prints :/
and my hands sweat a lot, so I need to wipe it every once in a while...
Good thing that they give you a wiping cloth though lol.

Here's a closer look at the touch strips
(the orange things are my knuckles and/or finger tips when I took the pic XD)
