Well at least it doesn't sound like a tornado in your computer like my HSF does

Mines been goin at 4400RPM since I did the voltage mod. Used to go 4100 idle, 4300 load. It's so loud, you can hear it from the 2nd floor(its in the basement) when the door is open!

haha same with mine...if its at max (with my desk fan blowing right onto it, because for some reason that makes it go faster), i can hear it from the bathroom (next next room over) with the door closed. i was admiring myself in the mirror and i go...what the hell is that noise...and its my fan!! yeah, so i backed the desk fan away, and it's gotten a bit quieter. i can hear the fan get faster everytime a gust of wind blows into the room. how do you volt mod? what is it exactly?

http://www.hexus.net/content/reviews...hpc3Rvcnk9LTI=

Read about it there, great article. However, I used a different method. Instead of looping it around those 2 pins(which is hard as hell) I took a very thin peice of wire and made it into a sort of U shape and stuck each end of the U into those 2 pin slots of the pins that are suppose to be wrapped together, and it has the same effect, the mobo is tricked into setting your default voltage to 1.75v instead of 1.55v. If you still don't understand what I mean I'll make you a small diagram to explain, just be careful and use very thin wire.

i believe my mobo lets me the voltage to 1.9+ already...so i can just do that? or would i still need to do that wire trick?

heh szl that article is hella old:

Quote:
It is only available in socket 478 format, current speeds range from 1.8-2.2 GHz. Intel are also scheduled to release the Northwood B, which runs on a 133/533QDR bus.

Yeah I know I want that wallpaper! I wonder if he has other ones too, I love Britterz

Anyway, if you can manually take it to 1.7-8 then try. I don't recommend doing 1.9v+ without extreme cooling, 1.8v should be enough, if you're not stable by then then either your CPU cooling or northbridge cooling isn't getting it done, or your chipset can't be pushed higher. OR, if you have a weak Powersupply.

SzL: tired and irritated, yes. I've been like that alot lately, but I feel better at night. Maybe I need some prozac or something.

I'm gonna give it my all to reach 2GHz with this CPU, and when I do, I'll post more pics of my rig w/ new sony monitor, motorola cable modem, and a much neater inside. (not that anyone cares, but hey, indulge me ).

Yep. Given the Tualatin's specs, 2GHz was easily capable of being done by Intel themselves, if it wasn't for the dang willy. :cuss2:

I shall make 2GHz..

I'd give that too you if you had a 1.4ghz Tualatin Cele, but may be tough with a 1.2ghz one...Although I can't question you're skills at OCing, so if you reach it I won't be at all surprised, just amazed

I'm saving up to order a 1.4Ghz Celly Tualatin. And when I do... I bet I could hit 2.0Ghz with it on my CUV4X-E. That would be sooooooo cool!! What would be even cooler is if you did it Cooliscool!! Best of luck!

I've been debating whether I should risk killing my CPU trying to find which pins unlock the damn thing, but I can't decide. I'll probably try to push it via FSB and ALOT of hardware mods.

Don't doubt me.
