I'll try to, my brother still may have the digital camera at his place, so you may have to wait. I already have the mobo pics on my brothers HD.

Well It was suggested that if I put my GF fx5600 in my duron system, it would outperform the willy 1.7. the last check of the willy was 2289. So at first glance the Duron looked better when it scored 2321.

Of course, after matching up the tests resolution, etc, the willy did score a 2864.

I posted a bunch of information for 3dmark, any other suggestions on squeezing more performance outta my willy?

the poor williamette is gonna be crappy....it's kinda like having a celeron. even if you put it to 3000mhz it will still suck.

so for now...use the duron or upgrade to a better processor that fits in your same socket...

Efficient, how? Same specs, architecture, besides being on an 0.13u micron process, which doesn't equate to better performance. All it is is a P4 Celeron Willy with an 0.13u process.

I don't see why you insist in putting the card into the duron system. The willy did bench better, and I saw better framerates while the tests were running.

Heh, well, the willy may perform slightly better, but look at the clock difference. If that duron was running at 1-1.1GHz, it'd crush the willy. If it works better for you, use it.

I get what you are saying, since I am pretty dependent on having 2 computers, I am unwilling to overclock the duron system.... I might see if I can find a similar class duron processor on a junk table at a computer shop or something. What up with pcmark reporting "HT available but disabled"

I think the earlier P4's had HT built into them but they weren't enabled for some reason (I think something to do with program compatibility or reliability, something like that).

wow, that's strange...all the way back to the willy days? btw Zeke_D...honestly it doesnt matter. keep your setup the way it is. unless you are experiencing slowness or problems...your computer is fine!

ok, let me rephrase. not "suck" as in "the Pentium 2 whoops its ass", more like "sucks compared to what's around it". my friend OCed his 2.4B up to 2.8, no biggie, it's on stock cooling and all. that thing is gonna kick your 3.3 celeron's ass. same core, 500 less mhz. twice as much L2 cache, which makes a difference.

just like the willy. the willy isnt utter crap, im sure it suits Zeke_D just fine (@zeke: feel free to correct me if i'm wrong). however, the Tualatin P3's (the 1.4 for example) would crush the 1.7 of Zeke.

get what i meant?

Well, my digital camera just broke, but it looks like I really don't need to take a pic anyway, as cooliscool has the same case I do. How do you like the case?? I love it!!!

Zeke- I'm pretty sure all modern Intel CPUs have locked multipliers. If you want more performance you can overclock if you can, but you said you were unwilling. I wouldn't be that afraid to OC if I were you, it's not as dangerous as many may think, but it's your call. You could buy a P4 1.8a for $115 at newegg.com.

Hushy: Yes, but my 3.3 suits me fine So it's not a problem, but the old willy Celes were indeed not the best. I just like NW's cuz they operate cooler and are easy as hell to overclock.

the Athlon XP's operate cool and are easy to overclock too, but you dissed them a lot in the past....

btw zeke_d, dont get a P4a. those suck just as badly as the Willy's, they are basically a celeron with their 400mhz FSB (even though they are northwoods)

I would OC, but the multiplier is locked, and my board does not support any other method of OC'ing

well if you cant change the FSB you are screwed..although most boards have jumpers to change them, thats not what you are looking for.

and anyway, what do you need the extra performance for anyway? more Pcmarks?

You can software OC, all it takes is looking on your board and finding your PLL model. CPUFSB works awesome, I used it to OC my K6-2 when hardware OCing failed.
