Quick shot of my box here at my buddy's place for a weekend mini LAN that has turned into over 2 weeks now lol. Note the misc hardware laying about. The cpu on the monitor is a dead Duron 1100, for practicing wire mods on. Some old PC2100 there too. Got a scratch on the case moving it a while back, top left corner, but not a huge deal since I plan on changing cases soon. I'll get a few shots of the insides soon, when I get my new Zalman CNPS7000A-AlCu in there. Also have a 2500Bart on the way, so that should o/c a little better then this 2400 T-Bred does.

The highest my 1.1A Tualatin would go was 1.6Ghz. Although I'm sure you remember what happened to it because of my cheapo PSU...

So I'm stuck with a 855Mhz Coppermine Celeron on my trusty Asus CUV4X-E. Awesome board.. I hope to get a TUV4X someday.

Hey, I just realized this Pentium 233MMX has no thermal paste between the heatsink and CPU...Should I put on on?(Does this thing have a die?)

They have a heat spreader covering them. Might get a degree or so out of some paste, nothing really worth worrying about, its a 233 :P.

Blew my PSU last night, poor lil 300W just couldn't take it any longer. 2 years or so was just to much given the hardware it was pushing. Thankfully, it didn't take any other hardware with it, which would have put me out for much much longer. Picked up a Super Flower (ghey name I know) today, and I'm pleasantly shocked. Quiet, good stable rails, and only $50 for 400W, how could I go wrong really. Made with the same hardware Enermax uses, both companies buy from the same OEM and rebrand basicly.

Got my XP2500 Barton in, Zalman CNPS7000a-AlCu, Corsair XMS3200 C2, and it is rock solid at 200x11. Haven't even tried to push it any further, but I may later tonight. Got a bunch of shots puttin the Zalman in, and I'll toss those up as soon as the batteries for the camera are done charging. Runs about ~42 idle and 47 while Prime95 is running, with NO case fans in at all. Should drop a good margin once I reconnect those/get more.

Freakin rawks. I can't hear it at all, and even with now 1 single casefan its temps are at most 46*c. I higly recomend one of these or the all copper CNPS7000a-Cu. Either one will be great as a choice, but I went with this one as it weighs a little less then the all copper version. Key to my overclock for sure too.

Do you get stability and overheating problems with your AMDs? I've read a bunch of reviews at newegg.com about people who got sick of their overheating CPU(that caused instability), and having to use a loud HSF to keep it working right, but still hot.

Well I'm runnin Prime95 right now, mIRC, Winamp, Photochop, IE windows, and other junk with a CPU temp of 52*c and it's bloody hotter then hell here today. Must be +40*c in this house right now. Testing an FSB of 203, just to squeeze all I can out of the CPU. Stable as any CPU I have ever owned, and the heat is from many factors, 1: I don't have the best flow in my case, 2: just 2 casefans, and 3: crazy high ambient temps. Yet It's still solid. Most of the time the instabilty stem from not enough volts & not enough cooling hence my 1.8v core, and big assed Zalman.

Instalation was great really. It looks like a terrible job to do, but it really wasn't at all. Once you get it in, only 2 screws to remove the HSF after that as it sits on mounts. You should have no issues at all hushypushy for clearance and what not. I thaught I would since my PSU is rather close to the socket, but it fits nicely.

ED: Forgot, got a cathode in there, no just have to make myself a window now. Looks nicer now, but need to grab some rounded IDE's and clean up the wiring when I get home.

Those Sunon case fans are pretty loud eh? I took mine out because it sounded like it was opening a vortex to another dimension.

My P233 runs quite, quite hot without a fan on the heatsink. Like Cylinder said, you really don't need any paste at all. Remember the 233 runs at an insane voltage compared to newer processors. My 233 runs at 2.8v.

I of course have a HS and Fan on my P233...

Heh, just by changing my HS/F on my Celeron 855 today... My idle/load temps went from 31c/49c all the way down to 21c/30c. A good HS/F can make a world of difference.

No, that Sunon is remarkably quiet, or it wouldn't be in my system heh. The generic in the back of the case is louder. Can't explain it really.

with that zalman in there, everything is so.....quiet. it's pretty strange for me. i never knew a HSF could cause so much noise...

Yeah I know what you mean hushy. That damn ThermalTake I have on my Celeron is noisy as hell. But it keeps the temps about 10c cooler than anything else I've tried.

yeah, and you know...to tell you the truth....i want the loud.

i was talking to chris (eternal11) and he told me he got home and he had prime95'ed at 30ºC!!! of course, his thing sounds like a tornado, a 70mm fan at 6200 RPM...but it gets the job done

to all those who told me a spark7+ was a waste of 30 bucks back when i bought in my P4 days...you suck

i turned off all the lights and took the pics. you can see how the cats rub up against my damn PC all the time...and also how crappy the neon shows through the front. i really need a clear side panel....i would get a cold cathode shining on my Zalman

On the subject of rig pics.. I took some without the flash (some with a flash light

) because I noticed that with the flash, it captures the fans stopped.

Anyway I think they came out pretty coo. (Thanks for the inspiration Hushy

) Also got a pic of the P4 I think came out very well, nice and clear. I've got it all nice and lapped ready for a HSF.

I may remove the IHS from my Tualatin if I feel brave enough..

And remember, Asus pwn you.
