but look on the bright side, if you guys ever visit the US, you can have all that crappy food for much, much less
I hope there are also better reasons to visit the states

We do have those Euro menus, still crews you about 25% when compared to the us Those are the best ways to go, having a Quarter pounder for 2 euros is alright with me, it should be the normal price, but normally they're 3 or something, might be even more. And Chankast, you should visit some real Belgian snackbars, those have the good ****, way better than those fries at McDonalds.

Don't get me started on japanese McDonalds. I wanted McNuggets and said that... They said point at the chart.. but it wasn't on the chart... I mean come on it's acctually called McNuggeto in Japanese ( I know that now :P ).. I mean how hard is it to make that connection?

OO, and in france you can order beer with the food, but you can't in Sweden. In Cid's homeland McDonalds is full of people taking drugs and... Well enough let's just say they show the nature of the country.

you'd be very surprised. you have to flip it around and imagine someone coming into somewhere you're working, speaking in a heavy foreign accent, trying to order food. even though the word is derived from english, that doesnt mean they can understand the actual english.

when i was first learning japanese, we had katakana quizzes, and we had to write the katakana in romaji (proving we could read it), and then take a guess at what it meant in english. i remember not being able to get some of them...even these days i get confused. do you know what a ポケットベル (poketto beru) is? i didn't.

another interesting mcd story, when i was at mcdonalds in Kyoto, i was with my friend, and he goes through, ordering in japanese, and he orders a sprite. and the lady looks at him, flips the menu over, and points to the menu in English. they didn't serve sprite at all, regardless of how he asked

hmm something like pocket bell probably? if you don't know about the R/L thingy could be tricky though.

Yes, the same happend to me in MCDonalds in Kyoto, the world is small sometimes. I did manage to find another place that had it though... somehow I'm always in the mood for sprite there.. especially last time because it was 42 degrees Celsius :P

heh, i think burger king is much better. but you know what? it's all personal preference. mcdonalds draws millions of people per day. they cant ALL hate it, right?

Same here. Then again, you eat McDonalds practically every day for three years and you're bound to hate it.

WTF?

Now that's new to me, I'm pretty sure it will happen, but it's not like MCD is like a junkie meetingpoint or something. I think the reason why they don't serve beer here is because a lot of MCD's are near main roads, and alcohol and driving don't go well together. Not even when going by bike I found out

I agree with you on the personal preference part, we once went to BK however, and we never went back to that place.

Maybe not everywhere but in Amsterdam for sure. I went to MCDonald there twice and it was more people doing drugs than there was people eating.
