vista is pointless imo, unless all you want a new OS for is to run slower, play directx 10 games (which look no different from DX9) and offers absolutely no benifit over XP and want the OS to look prettier (even tho theres Aero style themes for XP). Unless of course, your life depends on it only highlighting the main part of a file name and not the extension when you rename it
other than that, Vista is a bad bloated version of XP.

beside there was a similar aero glass plugins for xp, to make it looks like vista
