iPhone and iPod Touch running Quake III

Sauce: IPhone: Quake 3 Arena Ported to iPhone; Let the Networked Games Commence

Quote:
Holy butt-clencher, Batman! Quake 3 Arena has somehow found itself ported to the iPhone. Details are thinner than my scalp is on hair, but the video clearly shows a networked game going on in full swing. You may be thinking this sounds semi-neat, but let me tell you this; the game uses the freaking accelerometer for direction control, while shooting is done simply by tapping on the touchscreen. Now, I'm off to collapse in a euphoric pile, you check out the video and then do the same. There's no word on the release yet, but hopefully it will show up somewhere once I am out of my aforementioned, euphoric pile state. We'll keep you posted.

Quote:
You move your character around using the iPhone’s built-in accelerometer. You shoot by tapping on the screen. It actually looks like a fun way to play Quake 3, but I doubt if you’re going to be beat anyone on a keyboard and mouse. Apparently, there’s no skipping in this version of Quake but still…

anyways, the iPhone SDK was released and now all the developers are making stuff for it.
my sister is obsessed with the iPhone so i know all about it lol
i don't have one cuz i think its rediculous to spend all that money on a cell-phone.

i don't really use my cellphone much, so i don't want to waste money on it.

plus, i get really annoyed when people are on a cell phone 24/7.

i got really into cellphones for about 1 month, cuz my sister gave me her blackberry when she got her iPhone.

so then i tried coding a game for it, and made a snake clone.
but phones have so little power; in the game, if the snake got too big, it would slow down.

so after realizing that the phone can't even run a snake-game without lagging, i started to loose interest in cellphones again...

when cellphones get more powerful, i'll probably start to like them. but for now, they're too weak.

overclocking a phone? lol

but what phone do you have?

dual core on a phone?
lol, thats pretty cool.

if i ever get a dual-cored cellphone, i'll probably start coding some more cellphone games for it.

i wanted to make a megaman clone, but i know it would run slow on the blackberry...

phones are now becoming more powerful than the PSP, so maybe theres no point to get a PSP.

but sony is gay and most-likely won't release a public SDK (software development kit) for it.
meaning, its harder to code apps for it.

for cellphones, you can use JavaME, which is specifically for cellphones, and most of them support it.

My phone (a simple Nokia 6110 Naviator) is almost stronger than a P2, it's got a 233Mhz Processor and 48MB RAM.

Backberry's are just crap, all hype and no bite.
