In bad taste yes. But you can't single every solider for that, not all are cruel and inhuman like they showed.

BigIG your nuts, your wishing death upon human, because he killed a dog? I don't agree with what he did, but humans are more valuable than animals...

I don't think you can assign 'value' to life,
Any form of life has its own meaning, its own purpose.
If you are able to 'value' life, then is there something that you can trade life for?

I was going to same the same thing Fadz. Every creature that lives no matter how cute, ugly, stupid, annoying, or useless it is, should have the right to live. It's in every creatures nature to want to have a chance to live.

for me, being born a human doesn't mean a thing if you don't act Humane.

an innocent dog is more valuable than a psychotic murder/abuser.
especially when you think of the future, since someone like that would go on to do more harmful things.

I think you can assign value to life, because not everyone is the same.
But theres two ways to look at it; personally OR un-biased.

Personally I value my family member's lives more than some stranger on the street.

But when I try and be un-biased, i look at a person's value to humanity as a whole. Meaning, are they going to harm this world? or make it better?
judging from there, i decide if someone is good, bad, or neutral.
the guy in the video is a bad person, and the dog is neutral.
So I think the dog's life has more value.

Exactly, we, all living organisms on Earth, are all born to live :]

Very well said cotton. I will have to steal that from you and take credit for it when I write about this topic in school. Good explanation.

True, but that 'value' is personally assigned, there is no currency for it.
I think that the 'personal value' here is bond.
I believe it is bond and not life that has value.
For instance, emotions are based upon bond, and we utilize these bonds to place the things into our own ranks of importance.
Value is a unit for comparison. If there is no bond, then there is no way to rank; thus life cannot be valued.

well fadingz, what you said can only be applied to the first way I mentioned; when you're talking about "personal" value.

if you use a system where you value someone's life based on their contribution to the world/humanity; then you can at least sort people out without getting your emotions involved.

like considering someone who enjoys killing people as a bad person, and someone who likes to help people as a good person.
then because the second person who likes helping people would eventually have a positive effect in the world, you can value that person's life better than the person that just likes killing people for fun; whose existence would cause much greif to the family member's of the people he has killed.

using that way, i think you can value/rate people as Good/Neutral/or Bad.
and the Good>=Neutral>Bad

thats just my opinion anyways.. :P

Lets take the terrorists for example, their bond towards the world does not worth anything, but their bond within themselves are invaluable.
Consequently, we tend to value the bond we have, not the life of the person.

A memento for instance, can be a lot more important than a serial killer, but does it mean that the memento has life?
It is the bond with the memento that worths the value compare to the bond of that serial killer towards you.
A bond can be negative as well; the bone with the serial killer, for example, is the bond of your fear.

You're absolutely free to believe what you want though; that was just my point of view XD.

They took a puppy and threw it 40 feet over a small ridge.

Some people are saying that the puppy was already dead, and someone just added in yelping sound via editting afterwards. Me, I haven't bother digging deeper to find out whether there is any truth to that.

To me even if it were true and the puppy was dead, it would still be fairly disgusting.
