The hardware requirements are not set in stone. This should be *acceptable* though

People shouldnt be allowed to post asking: "Is my pc good enough"
90 percent ask only if there confident that they'll blow away the requirements...

At Gekko's present state, no. AMD64's are much better than a Pentium D's even if single core and even they have trouble.

My dual core AMD has trouble even achieving anything noteworthy. Perhaps if Gekko ever gets Dual Core and 64-bit implemented it might one day exceed the speeds possible by the 64-bit version of Dolphin.

At present Gamecube emulation is really not worth it and far from complete. You're better off just buying a Gamecube if you don't already own one and whatever game you want to play. It'll likely be a few or more years until Gamecube emulation is up to the level of PS2 emulation currently possible with PCSX2 and even then it might not.

Right now the main problems with emulating the Gamecube are sound, core and graphics issues. 99% of first party Nintendo titles don't have sound on Dolphin.

If you are interested in following the Gekko development, contributing to the project and possibly test the next beta to help further the development of Gekko I recommend considering becoming an N'sider at the Gekko Website.

I or any N'sider are not allowed to post *critical* details relating to Gekko and it's development as such info is only available to N'siders.

I don't get it why they're developing this emulator when there's already good working one, called Dolphin. Unless the games on this emulator would work well too on low-end systems like mine .

i don't get why you are bumping an old thread with such a question, that not only goes against one of he basic idea's of emulation.... but the basis of life itself.

Somehow I missed this..

@Dizzee, read and familiarize yourself with the board rules in the future including proper forum etiquette.

Just because development in Dolphin is at a more advanced stage right now does not mean other emulators or emulation projects shouldn't exist.

Can you believe that Dolphin itself had the same poor compatibility and performance as these emulators about a few years ago? If it wasn't for existing documentation through other projects Dolphin itself would not be at the stage it is today.

The Gekko project is quite new and already looks quite promising, with the documentation attained for the Dolphin project by reverse engineering it could be very likely that Gekko could exceed the capabilities of Dolphin in the future.

Since this is an old thread, in compliance with the board rules it must be closed. In the future I ask that you be careful not to bump old threads.
