[PS3]Devil May Cry 4

Hah, nobodys done this... Devil May Cry 4 is also availabe to Xbox360 and in short while to PC.

Summary:

Devil May Cry 4 continues the DMC saga with many things from earlier games but has very little new, which in this case isn't that bad... The game is almost like a compilation of good things from earlier games but everything has been perfected. Even with the new main character Nero it offers little difference to playing with Dante from earlier games, the only remarkable addition is the demonic arm Nero possesses. Another thing that's noticed from the start are the beatiful graphics, the large outdoor areas like the coastal city or the green jungles are simply amazing, but they're not perfect as in some places the lighting almost hurts your eyes.

Story:

Devil May Cry 4 story starts with huge difference to earlier DMC games, rather than Dante sitting in his office and greeted with stranger who has a mission for him, the story starts as Nero is trying to hurry to the cathedral but after finally arriving and meeting with his friend the ceremony starts only to be cut short as a stranger jumps from trough the ceiling and shoots the main priest, Nero then proceeds to confront this stranger and the battle begins.
The story follows fairly familiar path as once again gates of hell are opened and legions of demons are sliced, diced, shot, and smacked back to oblivion, while discovering the true goal of the Order fo the Sword.
I also consider that Neros true identity and the source of his power could've been revealed as now it was left as a mystery...

Gameplay:

Gameplay follows the same path as earlier Devil May Crys. Demons are sliced with sword, shot with guns and with the new addition thrown around like puppets with the demonic arm but its as fun as ever. The puzzles are short and rather easy but especially at the end they start to get boring and let's face it, meaningless... The demonic arm also brings new wind to age old platform jumping as in some places you use the arm to move long distances or higher than normally possible. The huge bosses are either challenging, deadly or simply impossible depending on your level of difficulty, with only two to choose at start the final number rises to 6 as you finish the game at higher modes. At halfway trough you also get to play as Dante but he is mostly the same as he was in DMC3 with minor improvments to style swapping but he feels nicely different from Nero so the game keeps itself interesting from start all the way to the credits. The game suffers from severe bactracking as you pretty much first go through the game, then at halfway through go back almost the same way...

Version Flaws:

With the PS3 version there has been numerous complaints about the installing that simply takes too long... But after getting that done in the beginning, only the first time, the game itself has almost no loading times which also shortens the loading when moving from room to room, which is one of the trademarks of capcom games.

PS: I highly recommend it to all Devil May Cry fans and to other people who love this genre. I also hope I didn't screw this up...

Edit: Some addition pointed out to me... Happy?

Well the backtracking was annoying(sorry, forgot to mention that) and I mentioned platforming as it had some new features with the arm, but there really wasn't that much of platforming so I didn't find it that annoying... I didn't think the camera that bad either, I've seen much worse...

Camera was always better in DMC than in Ninja Gaiden for example, where it annoys the crap out of me. Same with jumping. I just couldn't get used to playing Nero (no Stinger=WTF?) in the demo. I'll get the full version eventually, but I've put off buying games for few months (?) as I have more pressing matters to spend money on now.
