Sonic and Knuckles Collection debug mode?

This question has been buging me for some time. After researching for hours on the intarwebz, I found nothing...
Is there a debug mode for this game? (its a pc game).

If anyone knows, share!

Sonic 2 & Knuckles:

Level Select: At the title screen, press Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right. You should hear a ring. Next, press A + Start to enter the Stage Select screen. This code will remain in effect until you turn off the Genesis.

Debug Code: Go to the level select screen and play tunes 1,9,9,4,1,0,1,8 (the date when the game was made.) Choose any level, then hold A and press Start to activate Debug mode. To use it, see the instructions in Sonic the Hedgehog.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles:

Level Select Code: Go to the first level and play until you get to the vines. Jump on and press left, left, left, right, right, right, up, up, up. A ring will confirm. Press Start then A to reset the game. At the title screen select the new option Sound Test.

Debug Code: Perform the Level Select cheat. At the Sound Test menu select the 7th stage with sonic and proceed to the pulley systems. Jump on and press left, left, left, right, right, right, up, up, up. A ring will confirm. Press Start and A to reset the game. FROM THIS POINT FOWARD YOU MUST HOLD A, B, AND C! Go to the Sound Test menu and select a stage when the stage is completly loaded you may let go of a, b, and c.

I think it's emulating the Sonic 3 cartridge locked on to the Sonic and Knuckles cartridge on an emulated Genesis. I could be wrong.

hahaha, this is nuts, i think the latest Dx update has caused sonic to stuff up when i use a Midi soundfont based midi output (hardware accelerated)

no, it's a port. Also, the soundtrack is MIDI. Other than the music, it's a pretty accurate port though, from what I can tell. I don't know how well it runs on newer OS'es; I didn't bother to try it recently.

..there's a port of Sonic Mega Collection on the PC, which features emulated Megadrive versions, btw.. no need to get a Saturn for that (although Sonic Jam is kind of something special, because of the extras...)
