Only the 60GB model, which Sony has stopped making, can play nearly the entire PS2 library of games perfectly. The 80GB can play the majority of them, but still has lots of issues with PS2 games. The 40GB doesn't support PS2 gameplay at all I believe. And no, you don't need to have an HD TV to play PS3 games, that's just bogus info. True, it might not look as good as it should, but it still looks good. |

It's simple: Just hook up your PS3 to a tv, any tv, and it will work. Just as long as you get the 60GB or 80GB version so that it will play PS2 games. PS3 does not need an HDtv per definition, no pun intended. However, PS3 games look best on an HDtv simply because a regular one does not have the resolution to display it in full glory. Depending on where you're living you need to check if your TV supports 60Hz mode though. This can be an issue with PAL tvs.

sounds interesting so i wouldn't need like the t.v. with hd and all that......well it would be a big help to me....but about the 60hz....i found the section in my t.v.s' manual that said specifications which might help maybe....is there anything that could let me know its 60hz compatible if not could the first two replies or someone else respond and let me know i'd say i've had this t.v. for a bit but if its 60hz then that would help to.....and so you guys know it is an ntsc t.v......and theres a very new t.v. in here as well i will have to look at its screen and see if its similar to my screen and inches.......i will check back..
