Alone in the Dark 5.

Arf...Next gen. What does it means really? Better graphics and lightning? Better A.I? Better physics? Better atmosphere?
Until now the only thing I noticed about next gen games was HDR and bloom....nothing more. Power of our consoles and computers only seems to go only for that.Irritating.
I rarely get so enthusiast about a game. The last one was tetris().but it seems that this time we meaby got the game which will really make us enter to NG.Let me read what you think after having seen that.

I've seen better, but that is really impressive. Interacting with the environment and all the objects like that...looks like a cool ones coming .

Better physics, better atmosphere, possibilities to include environment in gameplay (with lightning, physics, shadows). Better AI. Better many things to increase the fun in a game and give more opportunities to players.

Next gen isn't limited to HDR and Bloom only, far from it.

Alone in the Dark 5 seems to show some of those things as a matter of fact. Physics, destruction of environment as part of gameplay, interaction with environment as part of gameplay, light/shadow, ect.

I'm quite interested in that game too, May is a long time away to wait... My only concern being the Wii version being maybe a little TOO similar to the PS2 version, which is pretty lame since they are going the lazy way.

But I'll play it on the PC anyway, just sad to see another dev being too lazy.

The game is current gen, no more, no less. It's definitely a very promising game tho, it's just not a "out of this world" game. (not that we really see many games like that, or at all)

It offers a lot of interaction which is great, but this kind of stuff was done before, so it's not making something completely new that warrants being dubbed as next gen.. We just didn't have any game doing that much in this current gen.

I have never in my life seen a game with such detail. It looks amazing and all I've seen so far are just these 2 vids.

I just hope it comes to the PC.

You misunderstand what I want to say. I was trying to imply that when Next Gen was presented , the only thing that was really put on our gamer eyes was graphics. No more, no less. I do not mean this game is for the Next Generation machines.

I do not agree. I do not know a game, released or coming, which let you have so much interaction with environment and more important, imagination for solving a problem.I did not even saw it in MGS4 videos, but I prefer play before giving any opinion on it.And I was already impressed by the work on Kojima's game. Meaby you can give me an example?

Well, as far as physics goes, a lot of games have that. So shooting the cable leading to the light isn't new.
AI reacting to light isn't new either, a lot of AI react to light/sound/movements.
And combining stuff together/making stuff burn has been done before too. Even old games (like Postal 2 if I remember right) had stuff like that.

And there was games when next gen was announced that proposed more than pretty graphics, a lot of games presented better physics, which can be used for various things. Like puzzle, destructible environment, stuff like that.
