Chas has translated some text from Famitsu and Dengeki Magazines.

FF13: An excerpt from an article in this week's magazine: 'Thoughts determined, times have matured."

- Nomura: "2008 will be the year. There will be tons of news bits, info on characters and summons, and an unexpected connection between the keywords Cocoon and Farushi.
- We're aiming for a demo to give players a hands on on the battle system.
- FF13's theme: determination.
- Farushi: Their existence surpasses humans.
- Rushi: Those chosen by Farushi to carry out a mission. The pigtail girl is a Rushi. Farushi is not the Crystal.
- Mr. 33cm is also a Rushi.
- This time summons are in digital form.
- A new monster that looks like a cross between a turtle and elephant.
- The red thing on Carbuncle's head is a ruby.
- Hint on release date: "I wonder when we'll be able to sleep..."

and from NOMURA its OFFICIAL FF13 and FFVS13 WILL BE RELEASED in JAPAN THIS 2008...

THIS YEAR PS3 WILL HAVE TON OF SUPRISES TO THERE LOYAL SUPPORTERS AS the EXCLUSIVES Comes out.

number 2 and 3 scans is for FF13
(the pink pigtail hair girl(OFFICIAL NAME IS LUCY) reminds me of aeris from FF7)

numbers 4 and 5 scans is for FFVS13
(the guy with the yellow hair resembles cloud or look like cloud)

i just hope someone translate it based on the scan..

That's strange, the characters from FFXIII and Versus look like hybrids between characters from previous games (mainly 7-8-10).

The more I look at them, the more I think "Man, this character seems like a mix from this one and that one...".

Anyway, I'm looking forward to Versus more than the Vanilla version personally, it seems more original, even tho I hate the main character (cause HE sure isn't original).

Wooo!!!! Can't wait... Those pics look sweet!!!

But the characters look alike because they've found that thats the type of characters are liked by audiences. Loli-type, cool and dark-type, cold girl-type, too happy-type and etc... I'm not swetting over something like that.

It seems that they once again go to futuristic world... That one pic resembled to midgar tho... But I'm cool with it.

That's what I'm thinking. And they probably want to play on the nostalgic side of players, seems more likely for us to like them if they bring back souvenirs.

Great, they try to make something revolutionary on the PS3 and they stick with those, cheesy, overly cliché archetypes? Couldn't they at least use a bit of imagination to creat complex characters of whom you don't already know what they are about to say? This feels as cheesy as a Nintendo commercial featuring a boy, girl, black dude and their mom...

Also, I take it Mr 33cm is a black dude? :P

And what do they mean with summons being in digital form? That's some bad case of Engrish

I agree with all that, but meh, it's a J-RPG, you can't expect anything else.

I think digital form means that this time instead of being magical summons will come from technology. So instead of using magic to summon them, you use technology to create a digital beast to fight for you.

Let's hope the loading time on those summons arent too long.

im not worried about loading time since SE has no HISTORY for having long load times.. unlike Lost odyssey for xbox360.. Load times will make u insane..and a game that reviewed by many based on its japanese counter part that the JRPG that has many technical issue

Keep in mind that SE is famous for utilizing every system power.. would u believe 4 out of 6 GPU(ic of ps3) is being use in this game..which will showcase the power of the ps3

Well, the loading time was actually a joke. I wasn't talking about us, the players, waiting for the summons to load. But about the character, waiting for the digital summon in the game to load. It was only a joke about computers and how sometime stuff can take a long time to load, so I was joking that a Digital Summon could take a very long time to load.

But I think you misunderstand something about the PS3 spec, it doesnt have 6 GPU. The PS3 has ONE GPU, the Nvidia RSX (similar to a Nvidia 7800 but modified).

What you meant to say was most likely that it was using 4 of the 7 CPU (with only 6 being available for the game, since the seventh is used by the OS).

I think you misunderstood something as well. The PS3 has only one CPU, the Cell processor, which consists of one CPU, and the 7 SPE's to which tasks can be offloaded. These SPEs are in no way a full CPU, unlike the Xbox 360's processor, which has three full cores. Not starting a CPU vs CPU was, but just setting some things straight. Some stuff people say on the internet about PS3 having OMG teh 7 cores1 is just wrong

the Cell processor, and the processor in the 360' can't even be compared, they are different style processors,

in terms of adding 1+1 a billion times, the Cell processor would be faster then the 3.2Ghz P4 in the Xbox360
