Finally! after so many crappy ports and half assed games to make some quick money, some third party devs started making truly great games for the Wii. Im so happy =D

Arc Rise Fantasia has become my main reason to get a Wii now =O~~~~

Dokapon Kingdom seems like one of Dr. Frankenstein's experiments at first - at its heart it’s a traditional, turn-based RPG, but its exterior looks more like a board game style party game. The two genres couldn't be further apart, but put them together and you get a highly competitive multiplayer experience in the guise of a party game, but with the deep structure of an RPG.

The goal of Dokapon is simple: whoever earns the most money wins. Up to four players can compete, each taking a turn spinning a wheel to determine the number of spaces his character can move on the board, which also functions as an overworld map. You can battle monsters to capture cities, spend money at various shops for items and equipment, and land on other players' squares to battle them one-on-one. Depending on how thoroughly you kick your friend's ass, penalties for dying can include sitting out for a few turns, losing precious items to the victor, and being sent back to the castle to start again.

In the game we played, the King of Dokapon decreed that someone fetch a piggy bank from some guy named Rico Jr. who was across the map from Dokapon Castle on a totally different continent. Starting at the castle, the four players raced to reach the piggy bank first, sabotaging each other whenever possible. The interesting part is that the game's dynamic totally changed once one of the players got a hold of the bank. What started as an every-man-for-himself race to the prize suddenly switched to a capture the flag style game, with the three other players desperately trying to stop the guy with the bank from reaching the castle to deliver the payload.

<- Jonc?!

It sounds simple, but all the trappings of a traditional RPG are here - leveling up, turn-based battles with various magic and non-magic attacks, tons of equipment and items to choose from, and even different character classes - thieves can steal items from other players if they pass them on the board, magicians can use magic items twice per turn instead of just once, and so forth. But besides all the full-fledged RPG elements, Dokapon also has balance - something lacking in games like Mario Party, where last-minute upsets seem to always be the rule. It definitely feels more like a "real" game that requires skill and strategy to win, and it's easily the deepest "party" game we've played.

With millions of people playing shooters and casual games online over Xbox Live, gaming seems to be moving back to its social roots. But for a lot of hardcore RPG fans, the gaming life can still be a bit lonely. Dokapon Kingdom may fill that void for some (especially those who enjoy talking cat puns and Dr. Who references), and we're curious to see if it catches on. We'll have to wait until it releases this October to find out, so look for our review then.

The Conduit (new) gameplay video! =D

If I was you I'd go to IGN to watch this video, cause it's 100000x better there.

Video (IGN):

IGN: Pre-E3 2008: The Conduit Update

We are taking it real slow. We aren't in any rush. This is something I probably could have been a bit more clear about before; we have our own funding to completion. We know we want a publisher, but we want it to be the right fit for the publisher, High Voltage, the game, and the fans that have so vocally supported us.

...

IGN: We've posted some new screens that show off some additional graphic effects for the game. How much of your tech are you hoping to implement into the final product?

Eric: All of it. [laughs] Seriously, we wouldn't be showing this stuff off if we weren't planning on using it and using it a lot. Some really fantastic graphical improvements came on line recently. Our artists and engineers are so amazing! I just wanted to give them all a big hug.

IGN: Tell us about the online experience you're hoping to deliver.

Eric: Our current multiplayer benchmarks are 16 players and we will definitely have the standard modes like Deathmatch and Capture the Flag. We are still exploring the possibilities and depending on how things go, we will have more. But we want to make certain that our online experience is solid and if that means sacrificing some other modes or features to do that, we will. We are choosing quality over quantity.

IGN; We're all for that. A lot of Nintendo fans have been ecstatic about The Conduit, but there are some critics who say that the game offers little to distinguish itself from other FPS efforts. What is your position?

Eric: We've been so happy with the response we've received! It really fuels us to do our best. You know? Sure. I think it's fair that some folks are pointing out similarities to other FPS titles but I hope that they can see that was one of our primary goals – to make a really solid fast-paced action shooter and that is the core of our game. Then we built the right differentiators on top of that foundation … we didn't want to be different just for the sake of being different. And I honestly believe we have some very unique and interesting gameplay via the All Seeing Eye device, a storyline that isn't set during World War II [laughs], a totally customizable control scheme and layout, and we've got some awesome high-quality graphics to boot. And this whole package is on the Wii, a platform that is crying out for a shooter like this like a desert cries out for rain. Even if I weren't making this game, it is the game I would want to buy for the Wii.

Wow Robot Wars kinda suprised me for a second there. Thought it was a fps or a 3rd person shooter. But its obviously a 4 person fighting game of sorts (i.e. streetfighter+ unrealtournament) so they can have improved graphics over other Wii titles sinnce they are dedicating all the polygons and textures to a relatively small arena and only 4 characters.

Otherwise Wii wouldn't be able to achieve those graphics .

This looks like the way we control we be enhanced yet again. When will the great minds of Nintendo slow down? I am already excited to see what else E3 holds in store for us. Imagine the possibilities with this baby.

Nintendo’s upcoming Wii MotionPlus accessory for the revolutionary Wii Remote controller again redefines game control, by more quickly and accurately reflecting motions in a 3-D space. The Wii MotionPlus accessory attaches to the end of the Wii Remote and, combined with the accelerometer and the sensor bar, allows for more comprehensive tracking of a player’s arm position and orientation, providing players with an unmatched level of precision and immersion. Every slight movement players make with their wrist or arm is rendered identically in real time on the screen, providing a true 1:1 response in their game play. The Wii MotionPlus accessory reconfirms Nintendo’s commitment to making games intuitive and accessible for everyone. Nintendo will reveal more details about the Wii MotionPlus accessory and other topics Tuesday morning at its E3 media briefing.
When will Nintendo stop? Tomorrow we will see its answer to a possible "Xii-mote" and/or "Ps-mote".

Capcom announces Dead Rising Wii.

July 16, 2008 - And the string of old games Capcom is porting to the Wii continues. Dead Rising, the Xbox 360 zombie fest, is being repackaged for the Wii. This follows remakes Resident Evil 4 and Okami. Dead Rising Wii appears to be a direct port of the existing game, not something new (and, mercifully, not a mini-game collection with waggle brain devouring).

For the moment, all we have to go on are these scans from the latest issue of Famitsu, by way of blog Wii @ Everyday. We'll have more info soon.

Arc Rise fantasia looks nice, though it's from the same developer as Luminous Arc 1/2, which aren't really good. Let's hope this one turns out better.

I'm not sure, but I don't think it's the secret announcement because it was showed by Famitsu, a japanese magazine.... Why would Capcom reveal its Wii's secret project there if they are in E3?
Also, Capcom's conference was all about the Lost Planet movie, it still have to show something for us, gamers.

And.... Castlevania Judgement Debut Trailer:

Do you remember of this scan:

?

Well, it's Sonic... and he has a sword: o.o

I hope it supports the Wii Motion Plus...

Yeah, saw the Debut trailer and gameplay trailers for Castlevania. A bloody dissapointment. I thought it was going to be 2d fighting like Soul Calibur. But is a crappy free roaming arcade type fighting game. Like Power Stone but less fun. And graphics are ugly. A Mediocre game at best.

Btw have you have guys check out the Tenchu 4 debut trailer for the Wii? graphics are stunning!
