Magazine dates are the month that they go off sale. Therefore a February magazine for a monthly publication will be released sometime in January and go off sale sometime in February when the March issue comes out.

Looks to me more like an atmospheric adventure game... mm... haven't seen this style ever since Miyazaki's series... and to be honest, I'm quite hooked now as well...

I'm looking forward to it, but I'm more afraid by "Will they really go for a horror game, or will it be plagued by a <we HAVE to make it look like a fairy tales for the japanese audience> syndrom" than by the atmosphere itself. I don't want happy little fairies going all over the place with big bright colours and cute characters if it's gonna be a horror game it could work if done right, but too often it's not the case. Waiting for more infos other than the pics/trailer tho.

Dunno, it just seems to me things from Japan suffer even more from the "happy endings!" stuff than american movies (which is very hard to do) and too often, this just ruins the atmosphere/story (oh how I hate you FFVII : AC ending... how I hate you...).

While the serie named "Suikoden" look like a solid J-rpg, I wouldn't exactly say it's worth all this hype.

But it COULD be worth all this hype if the next one is actually better than any previous games (they look like they were good, but not "AMAZINGLY" good).

According to reports last week, Factor 5 is developing an exclusive game for Nintendo's latest home console, Wii.
Kombo has learned from a credible source that said Wii game is in fact a new installment in Nintendo's cherished Kid Icarus franchise. According to sources, Factor 5's Kid Icarus title is being developed ground-up for Wii. It will not use one of the developer's previous GameCube graphics engines. Unfortunately, at this time, no other details have been provided to us for publish.
Sources tell Kombo that the ex-Nintendo developer is developing a ground-up Kid Icarus sequel for Wii.

WTF?!

This guy is crazy.

Glad is always joking + anybody who's in the Bin has a ridiculous title, so you can't really take that as a fact

New pictures of Fragile and Endless Ocean

EGM did a ‘review’ of Endless Ocean. You can’t really call it a review though. They put the game in their review wrap-up section, which covers games that were ‘too late…or too little.’ Below is their review blurb, courtesy of the gang at NeoGAF. Review will be in bold.

Why isn’t it a game?

Endless Ocean gives you a sailboat and a stretch of the South Pacific to explore at 10 fathoms. What it doesn’t give you is danger, conflict, enemies, a story, obstacles a health bar, bosses… you know, game stuff. You don’t even have to worry about your air supply. Ever tried diving without an air guage? Diving’s a supersafe sport, but if you don’t follow a few simple rules, you could rupture your lungs or catch agonizing decompression sickness or just drift into a happy warm funk until you run out of air. I’m not saying EO needs to give players the bends, but it’d be nice if the occasional fish at least tried to eat you.

Wait, you mean the fish don’t bite?

Nope, not even when you chum the water and then reach out to pet them with your Wii remote. EO’s fauna - both the fish below and hte birds above the water - exist solely to satisfy your critter-molestation desires. It’s be like Mario going to the Mushroom Kingdom just to grope all the Goombas and the Koopas. At least the manta ray in Super Mario Galaxy will kill ya if you ride him wrong, for cryin’ out loud. Your goal here ultimately is to catalog as many fish as you can get in petting distance, stopping along the way to give dive tours to tourists who want in on the hot fin-petting action. And if that sounds more like work than a game, then bingo - That’s why EO kicks off our inaugural installment of Electronic Nongaming Monthly.

If I were to rate Endless Ocean on a scale between Biology Class and a night dive in the actual ocean, I’d give it ‘trip to Walmart’s aquarium isle’. - Crispin Boyer

An actual review would be nice, instead of just a mock article. I guess EGM is choosing to ignore the core crowd that actually enjoys this game. It’s been getting some great reviews, including the 8.0 at 1up. By the way, there is an air gauge as well.
IMO if you have the control, if you choose what to do, it's a game, else, it's a video....

BTW, we are almost in February = The announcement of the "epic RPG"...

So the only way to have a game from what they say is to have conflict, ennemies, bosses?

Huhu, this is exactly what sim-like games are supposed to give huh?... Oh nooooo...

They really need to stop being jackasses and do real review.

Yeah, and they gave an 8.3 to Brain Age and a 7 to Flash Focus....

BTW, how can they review Guitar Hero?

EDIT1:

Good News:

There comes a time in every system's life when its parent has to take off the kid gloves and say goodbye. Nintendo might not being doing that just yet with the DS, but the company is decreasing the amount of developers working on DS titles.

That doesn't mean Nintendo will be facing empty nest syndrome, though. By coddling the DS a little less, more developers can (and will) be able to focus on Wii games. The Wii will surely benefit from this, as more manpower means quicker game releases. As for the DS, don't fret. The handheld is littered with third-party titles, and it's not like Nintendo is jumping ship completely on its portable money-printer.
EDIT2:
Fatal Frame 4 (Wii Exclusive):

"Titled in Japan "Rei: Tsukihami no Kamen," the new Fatal Frame game is a major collaborative effort for Tecmo. Nintendo will publish the game and is also lending its support on the development end."

Wii is comming with a lot of horror games.

Oh god...

This will be great!
I'm VERY looking forward to see how this turn out to be, but it should be awesome.

Edit : And that game will have the guy from No More Heroes as a director, isn't it?
But Nintendo really seems to be getting lovey-dovey with japanese 3rd party developers as far as the Wii goes.
