Thought and opinion for halo 3...

Wow! One of the biggest hyped game ever! The graphic sux no doubt about that!, stupid looking dude in armor with gun shooting crappy ass looking alien, not to mention every single alien enemy looks almost identical! HOLY CRAP!

Some version of the game came with scratches and made the game unplayable, also new problems are emerging in Halo/Bungie forums stating that they received the disc read errors, lock-up, others are finding the issue limited to certain game modes, and an 'unsafe to respawn' error message when trying to resume a Campaign after moving a hard drive between two consoles.

And guess what all of these problems mean to american folks that rated this game?...a 10/10,. Did you guys know that in Japan, the american games (Activision games) have a poster next to it saying, "Western DOG $hit". No wonder they sell so poorly in other countries (Xbox 360 included), especially Japan. EA and Bungie need to go smoke some weed or something before they make a game.

I read the tech news like almost everyday... and my statement are based on my opinions, like the thread name. I'd wouldn't be surprise, if someone from China or Japan played halo 3 and the next thing you know their life had ended... Well, in this case, the game suck so bad players have to kill themselves (<-----exaggerated statement) But, it's true that Chinese gamer dies from gaming dues to non-stop playing, it's it the news folks!

Opinions are like ass holes... everyone has one yet yours is based on "tech news". It's such a shallow opinion with no actual basis or participation in the thing that you're criticizing that i don't even know where to start.

I guess hype = quantity while originality = quality. The XBox series has both, but most of its original titles have now become hyped... and the next original titles either appear on the PC... or both the PC and the PS3. Worse yet, the PC versions of most of those titles are usually the "worse" one when you have a rig that costs as much as a 360 does. :/

If you want opinions of Halo 3, Metacritic can help, and quite fast :

From 43 "Pro" Reviews (website, magazines, tv shows, whatever) : Average of 95.

From 896 Everybody (so, peoples who love Halo even if the game was made on a 8bits console, and peoples who would hate Halo even if it saved their family life) : Average of 7.9

You can go and look at the various reviews they used (one of the lowest review is actually from a official 360 magazine) to get a good idea of how the game is doing.

Seems like the hype influenced a lot of the reviews (got way too many 100) but by reading 3-4 of the worst reviews, you should be able to see the qualities and the flaws of the game.

From what I could gather, the game still feels like the previous games, without enough innovations to truly make it different. But since the previous games werent bad either, the game still got good things.

The only really new things (except being on the 360 and using technologies that it provides) seem to be the Forge and the Theater, the Forge can be fun and the Theater is loved a lot. But those things still arent enough to truly make the game different than the past two.

Only buy it if you think you'll have fun in multiplayer, otherwise the single-player alone won't be worth it. If you don't think you'll like playing in MP, then the game probably won't be worth the price.

My Playstation 2 is my favorite console, but I think its cool there are people who like the 360 and Halo 3. I own Halo and Halo 3 and might buy the multiplayer DVD, I haven't given up on Halo, I just wasn't wowed by it.

People can buy whatever game they want, regardless of what I think about it. The only important point is they have fun playing the games they buy.

I'm sure I'll get my money out of Halo and Halo 2, and who knows, someday I might buy a 360 and Halo 3, I'd just not hold your breath.

There are more Japanese games that are coming to States and very few american game succeed in Eastern countries, i.e Halo series.

I would if I'm fluent in Japanese and have a decent job over there. But there are also other thing/stuff in the US that i like to. For instant, science/chemistry, and I'm pretty sure there are others for me to list but i can't think of right now, cause it 12:48 am now

I'm just saying what I likes (hobby/interests) the Japanese knows how to delivered them, end of story. And let's not forget that Nintendo brought back the gaming zone to the state; it was in a horrible shape before Nintendo enter the US.

Not necessarily. This game is hyped up by the company that produced it. FFVII is hyped up by the fans. There's a big difference.

For a mangaka, or someone who had experience drawing manga, although I haven't tried making anime yet, I can say that American cartoons are way more entertaining than Japanese anime, which is heavily influenced by the teen pop culture. Therefore, some of the stuffs you see in anime are sometimes very disturbing. Have you ever watched any of those anime with sex and gore levels all the way to the top? And no, I'm not talking about hentai anime, hentai is nowhere near the level of those anime. But back to the matter at hand, I do realize that American cartoons don't have the same quality that Japanese anime do. But so what? You don't need to have like top notch visuals in an anime. It's a plus, but it doesn't make up the entire thing. There's the story, sounds, music, and the presentation as well.

And back on topic, for someone who understands the Asian culture (ack, I'm an Asian! ) and really appreciates the US culture, this game just plain sucks compared to other shooters that are two to three years before it. That's all. And that's not to bash the 360 or anything. But I just don't feel like this game is worth it. Not after Gears of War, Lost Planet, Bioshock, Quake 4, and F.E.A.R.. Not after Battlefield 2, Half-Life 2, Doom 3, etc... In short, this game is, in my opinion, a below average shooter that doesn't even make it into my "best shooter" list, which its previous version (Halo 2) did. Maybe it's just me, or maybe it's because I've been tainted by the better, badder, and bigger games that came before this one.

Runawayprisoner: There is anime like that but there are anime series and movies that far surpass American animated series and movies in every way. One of those series would actually go along with your comment about nudity(there is no sex in anime but there can be plenty of nudity) and gore and that series is Elfen Lied. Elfen Lied has a story that far surpasses alot of stories in American entertainment and I hate gore in anime but I still watched it because it was so good.

There are many other anime series and movies that have great storylines which I will list some of them below.
