Dragon's Lair II Time Warp trouble! *PC Win 95 version*

I snagged a copy of Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp for the PC @ Goodwill, but when I run the CD and start a game, it seemingly goes through an Attract mode and freezes at a spot where Daphne's mother clubs a monster and tells it to shut up.

I'm wondering if the disk is defective? It came without docs, but it was only $2.99. I threw out the receipt, so I'm not getting my money back. It went to a good cause though, and maybe Daphne *the Laser disk emulator* will recognize the CD as a commercial version? I hear if you have the 'commercial' version, CD/DVD/Etc, you are legally allowed to play it in Daphne.
